today is "Beverly Hills" Wheezer, it just happens to be one of their older songs that i like
"Blood On My Neck From Success" by John Frusciante, from his 1994 album Niandra Lades & Usually Just A T-Shirt, which was released in the height of his heroin addiction and right around the time he first left the Chili Peppers. The singing is enough to scare most people off, and at times it's cringe-inducing but one has to realize the passion that is coming through the music. It's raw emotion, and also an example of a struggling and damaged soul riddled by addiction. It's miles away from his later work, and you'd be hard pressed to find someone who would know it was even him.
MH, great song by Beth! I love it! Altough you recommend "Central Reservation" before "Daybreaker", the jazzy mood in the song makes me download "Daybreaker" first.
Confusion by The Gathering, a dutch band beyond any labels in metal. This song belongs to their album "Nightime Birds" wich is my favourite from the band. I saw them live in Baires a couple of years ago and it was EPIC, Anneke's voice transports you to another dimension. One of the concerts that I enjoyed the most despite the fact that my friend Pablo lost his cellphone in the pogo.
You were right about that Frusciante song, it definitely made me wince once or twice. That song by The Gathering was up and down for me. I liked her singing, but the guitar solo at the end kind of put me to sleep. Today's random iPod song: "Twilight" by Delerium, from the album Karma. The song has nothing to do with the book or the film, although I wouldn't be shocked if Delerium were a good fit with their audiences. They share a certain mild goth flavor, and I could see them both being "gateways" to all sorts of dark fun.
Today's song happens to be "The Unforgiven" by Metallica and this happens to be the very first song that i ever heard by Metallica. It got me hooked on them.
"Another Body Murdered" by Faith No More & Boo-Yaa T.R.I.B.E. Pretty good album that's lost a bit of its luster over the years. 1993, iirc. I was working in a comic-book store. Anyway, I don't know how it would play today. This blend of punk rock and hip-hop has since been beaten to death, but as someone who listened to both genres in their pure forms, I remember seeing the preview poster in the record shop window and saying "holy shit, that looks awesome!" And it was.
"Amaranth" By Nightwish This was from their newest album Dark Passion Play with their new singer Anette Olzon. I heard their song 7 Days to the Wolves and thought that the CD would be freakin awesome, but it is my favorite CD of all time.
"We Carry On" by Portishead from their last album. I really like this song so that's why is here.
