    That was just a gimmick by Playboy to increase sales. They have returned to nudity since.

    Playboy CEO Scott Flanders did away with nudity, but when Cooper Hefner took over as Chief Creative Officer, he reinstated nudity (also coincided with Flanders leaving the company).
