***Latest update shown in red***
Hello guys. I'm no longer going to include zip files to my picture sets, it wastes too much time on my part and since there are so many apps out there that can help you download the pics, I feel the zip files are no longer necessary. On rare occasions I will provide a zip if the picture set is quite large or a special request is made. So to help out people who are new to downloading pics, I created this thread which has a few programs I found to be quite useful in uploading/downloading/sorting pics. They're all safe and virus/spyware free.
Incidentally, for downloading pictures in my thread which uses imagebam as a host, use III Downloader.
Uploading
III Uploader is a nifty little program I use to upload to Imagebam. You can post to your favorite image hoster. IT separates the upload according to the folder your uploading from and tells you how many pics you've uploaded. This has significantly cut down the time it takes for me to post to the forum. Remember, only a few special image hosters are allowed on the forum, so check the rules to make sure you comply. Since this and some of the following programs are difficult to find, the download link is included below.
Downloading
The browser I use is firefox so the essential addons are of course flashgot, DTA, Save Images 0.6.8, ThumbsDown to name a few. The programs I use when these fail are:
JDownloader is free software that will help you download multiple files from sites like megaupload for free. It can also be used to download from imagehoster sites if you highlight the pics you want to save and drag and drop them to the links section of the app.
Enclosed in this download is the aforementioned III Uploader and III Downloader, a great program for downloading from multiple image host sites. For the sites that do not have plugins in these apps, you can always use the other two programs, Interactive Downloader is a standalone program that doesn't even have to be installed and I found to be quite useful as a last resort program. Lately though this program has been crashing on me if it has to deal with a lot of file links -or- you can use Bilderherunterlader which is a German program (in English though) that is also very nice in downloading from sites. The enclosed file for bilderherunterlader is for windows only, so if you use another operating system just do a google search and you can find the site for it.
Jdownloader & Bilderherunterlader need to be installed while the others are standalone programs. Here's the download link for III Uploader, III Downloader, Interactive Downloader, & Bilderherunterlader
Bulk Image Downloader (BID) is a great program, able to download from multiple sites. Unfortunately it's not free and only comes with a 30 day trial if you get it from their website. However, you can download an earlier version that I found to be clean at a torrent site.
Downloading from Specific Sites
I've noticed each site has a particular nuance to it as far as how to get pics off of it. Sometimes the aforementioned tools just aren't enough. So this section has to do with how to get pics from sites that those tools just don't have the right stuff for. More sites will be listed as soon as I have to deal with them again.
Webshots: Get firefox add on called 'greasemonkey' and then google 'greasemonkey webshots' and it should lead you to a site called userscripts.org where you'll have to get a full size or flash off script that will let u download the original full size pics. The script I found that still works is called 'webshots fullsize'.
Picasa: When in a particular album, click and view the RSS feed and from there either download the pics individually or use flash got to get them all.
Imagearn is a pretty crappy image hoster, giving dollars and cents for every creep who wants to make money off his site, as well as . BID or firefox's ThumbsDown is the program I used for this site.
Flickr has been such a pain in the butt figuring out but I finally got a system. Let's break it down:
a.)
Sites used to view flickr: The first is
Dackr which is my favorite by far. Enter the user name or other identifying information and you can view hundreds of flickr pages scrolling down 20 pics at a time that keep loading as you scroll further down the page. Second is
LfVr which is also nice sorting a users entire gallery instantly. Both sites have options that you can use to tweak according to your viewing preference.
b.) Downloading Pics: I find Darckr is the easiest of the two sites when downloading pics. Open up Bulk Image Downloader Queue Manager mentioned earlier which should be in the install folder of the program and when you find a set or some pics you like, copy the link(s) and paste them in the job queue of the program, enable the queue to get it started and it will download the highest quality pics for you. By far the fastest and easiest way to download pics is c.
c.)
Program that does both a and b: Found a delightful program that lets me view the pics gallery style and then when I highlight the ones I want, I drag and drop them in the download folder and it automatically downloads highest quality pics. It's called
DestroyFlickr. Limitations are that you first have to have a flickr account, authenticate the program on flickr, and add the person who's pics you want as a contact. It does have other limitations but they're negligible. Found an account that was particularly troublesome today so I just used the process described in b.
Viewing Pictures
Greasemonkey is a great add-on if you don't already know, able to alter a website such as image hosting sites like imagebam so that you don't have to look at annoying ads, but only the picture. The script I found to be useful when viewing pics is called 'Show Just Image 2', allowing you to view only the pic in all its full size glory.
Pornzilla is a helpful site for adding buttons to the top of firefox's toolbar making it easier to view porn. The buttons that I found to be helpful were zoom in/out, increment/decrement allowing you to move a number up or down in the web address, make numbered list of link is helpful if you want to make a list off of a particular site you found instead of clicking inc/dec, & remove redirects is a MUST if you want to avoid being redirected to some other annoying site rather than view the porn content you clicked on.
Firefox's redirect remover is nifty add on for automatically removing redirects. When this fails, I fall back on the aforementioned toolbar button.
A new add-on I just found is Image Zoom, which gives a lot more functionality to your mouse buttons allowing it to zoom in and out of pics, fill the screen with the pic, and rotate them too.
Show the Image is another add-on that takes the largest pic on the page your viewing and once you click on it, shows only the image from the page, no ads or other nonsense. Makes saving images just a little bit quicker.
Searching for More Pics
Tinyeye is a great site that let's you reverse lookup a picture. So if you see a picture or set of a girl you like and wonder if there are more pics of her out there, tinyeye allows you to search the pic. You can search using the web address of the picture, you can upload it if you have it downloaded already, but the best and most convenient way is to download the tinyeye plugin for firefox and just right click on the picture(s) you want to search for and cross your fingers.
Sorting for Duplicate Image Files
To sift through a massive collection of pics for duplicates is an impossible task. Programs that actually compare the image, not just the file name and size are hard to find. But here are two that might be helpful.
The first is Unique Filer V1.4 which is a great little program that can scan pics and find duplicates by looking at the image itself, the filename, or the size of the file. You first create a database where you store all your pics, which can take quite a while depending on the number of pics you have and your computer specs, and once that database is complete, you can use that as a base to compare any new pics you acquire. You can update that database and always try to ensure that you don't have a duplicate picture.
Settings tips:
In your configuration settings under file, under the image compare tab I would put the fuzz factor to between 40-50 in order to pick up the subtleties of the pictures when comparing them. You will get a lot of false positives, but I found that if you go lower than 40, it misses quite a few duplicates.
Beta version, use it at your own risk. I found it to have several bugs and watch it crash on me quite often.
Finally, DoublePics is a similar program which in my opinion is a little more complicated to figure out, but it basically does the same thing.
Play around with them, see which one's you like. IF you have any questions or concerns, feel free to message me personally since I will most likely not visit this thread that often. Also, feel free to contribute any programs you think might be useful for the porn aficionado in all of us.
