    bolo, if you read back a page or 2 ... cthrough has explained it a little i believe, but from what i remember photoshoots arent usually good (pasties) and it depends on material and designs and such on the material

    kral: Doing dark material is not easy. Like c-through says, it depends on the material, lighting and pose. For example, the Lea Seydoux pic is doable since the stretched sweater allows light between the woven material ... but it requires tons of work!

    JLH's stretched, wet bikini also allows some gradient light differences and is made clearer by messing around with the saturation plane. This means separating the image by using the HLS (Hue-Light-Saturation) and HSB (Hue-Saturation-Brightness) models, playing with the Curves function, then recombining to get the VERY subtle differences.

    Play with the Miley Cyrus 'instructable' to get your feet wet then learn about the RGB, HLS and HSB color models. Xray-ing is fun.

    Consider how 'sexploitaion' videos peaked around 1972 then disappeared, the same is happening here. The see-through 'golden age' peaked around 2005. Celebs now wear flesh-colored, opaque underlayers to give the illusion of being see-through. While a few haute-couture designers continue to push see-through creations, only unknown supermodels agree to wear them.

    A new era of Internet conservatism is upon us and all the content on image servers can suddenly vanish like MegaUpload. JMHO.
