    Arrow a few come to mind.

    I think 2012 was the first year where I really noticed the passing of celebrities, probably because a lot of them I watched/heard when I was growing up. Among those:

    Sherman Hemsley


    Grew up watching The Jeffersons - the sole reason why I'm a master of the funky chicken dance move is because of George Jefferson.


    Don Cornelius


    He's one of the main reasons why much of my musical taste is flavored with soul, jazz and hip hop. The creator/founder of Soul Train and one smooth man despite his spousal abuse troubles.


    Dave Brubeck


    This one seriously hit home - if I'm not playing "Blue Rondo a la Turk" everyday when i drive to work, I play it every OTHER day when I drive to work. Jazz giants don't come much bigger than Dave Brubeck.

    Rest in peace.
