    Default Reflection on your 2012

Now that we're going onto another year, what was your 2012 like? What do you most remember about it for yourself and in the rest of the world?

For me the year was one of immense personal change and change of beliefs, a bad year for injuries and family issues but a good year mentally. After twenty years of theism I became an atheist, I started writing a lot more and my writing has started to finally get into a shape I am happy with.

As for the rest of the world? I was amazed and shouted for joy watching the Nasa control room as they realised that the skycrane had worked and the Mars landing had been a total success, was astounded by the finding of the Higgs Boson and amazed by Baumgartners space dive.

As always in the world there was more than enough horror stories to make you wonder about the human creature but this year I tended to remember the brilliant things our people did instead.

What about you horrible lot ?

    couple quick thoughts.

    how precious life is.

how love can conquer the demons which lay within and in the person you love.

that Family will be there for you. no matter how much you scare them.

and btw, if you can avoid it, do not get a catheter. they fucking hurt just as much going in and out.

I can really split in the year in two portions the first part is the first half of the year. It was a calm part when i tended to alot of my recently deceased grandpa unfinished buisness. It was all about selling appartement and finishing the books and trying to figure out what to keep and what to throw away. No real mystery to any of you but its remarkable how much stuff one stores just for the sake that you might need it in the future. Other than that i was in standby mode not much happened for me.

The second part was the latter part of the year mostly the autumn part. I had a lot of doctors appointments where i did checks on my own mind trying to figure out why i am like i am and why i dislike spending time with other people. So it was a time of revelations and surprises and i think this rather hectic and eventfull period will be with me for a bit into this year as well. I do feel bad for my loved ones they have had to focus a lot on me this year and im not comfortable about being in the spotlight and hogging the limelight. Im looking forward to what's in store for me there are somanynew aspects of me now that i wasnt expecting earlier.

On an international basis i havent followed the worlds problems that closely but it seems people are waiting for the economic crisis to go away. I cant be bothered with the problems in Sudan i have my handfull with dealing with me so its for my own well being i shut it out.

In the world of Phun things have been challenging in its own way not only with the whimsical software that are a story of its own and tough decisions that has been made i think of Gaps and Sid off course. But also there are so many good and intellectual members here that question our judgements from time to time that challenges all of us reds to be better. If i look at our decisions that has been made i see traces of inconsistencies from time to time. This leading to some threads being dealt with in one way whilst others of the same type are looked at in a different way. It all comes down to the free and independent way we and cayne has decided to work here. It doesnt matter if you have a strict number of guidelines to go by or a free way of working with dealings at a big forum your bound to end up in traps anyway. Also on a final note we (moderators and admins) tend to shut you guys out if we get to challenged by well thought of critics and thoughts from you. It ends up with a sense of "us and them" situation and that is definitly not good we must be more open in our approach. So 2012 could have been better in here.

I left Las Vegas after 19 years living there - evidently it's possible without killing yourself - who'd've thunk it?

I went back to Chicago (where I grew up) for the first time in 30 years - some things change, but they're still the same. It was comforting beyond words. And to hear thousands of male robins crying the same song at 3 in the morning, hoping to attract a mate, reminded me that we're all in this together.

Mom and dad turned 90 and 91 this year, respectively... Astonished and grateful only begins to sum up how I feel....

2012...like most years, frustrated that i don't have enough cash and time
to do the things i want to do - but realizing that there are millions out there
who don't have what i have (and never will)
just grateful to be alive and in good health, i guess....

1st full year without my mum and that's been very tough going...
Decided I need a new challenge so this year I'm moving back to my hometown and place of birth London...

This past year was pretty tough. Attended way too many funerals, both family and friends. Work has gotten increasingly more difficult as the Corp. office tries to completely whip us into their mold.

You must grow to go forward. That's the main thing I have to say about my 2012 other than I'm glad it's over. I may go more philosophy later.

It was a difficult year business wise withmore downs than ups,
partially due to wrong decisions but mostly due to the ever worsening law n order situation. My newspaper started growing and creating a small niche for itself locally.

On the family front it was a great year with my younger son getting married. Parents are live and kicking though my mother has started having small problems with memory.

I had a couple of eye surgeries which went well and were very helpful. For most of the year health was ok.

I am expecting good things for 2013 on all fronts personally.

Sad to see the world going from bad to worse almost everywhere. Particularly Palestinians, many African nations, Afganistan et al continue to suffer. My prayers that theirs and others lot improves and gets better.
    Thanks, AFX!

2012.. nothing out of the ordinary happened. I've gotten to know a lady and her kids even more over the year, although she's never gonna be my lady she still is a good friend and it's fun to hang around them. I'm a part time farmer, so weather means everything during summer, and 2012 really was a shitty year with way too much rain and not enough warmth in the air, though surprisingly for all of the farmers around here the crops (hay) were fantastic almost double compared to previous years.

personally nothing out of the ordinary happened, I got no closer to exchanging the imaginary wife for a real one. I did get myself a new (old) horse though to have something more to do (as if I needed that), and my parents are still going strong even though they are in their 70's.

one thing that I recently have realized is that in 2013 I need to have more fun as there weren't much of that last year.

You REALLY need a wife/girlfriend TO.

It's all about context my brother.

In my own life, things continue, that's about all I can say. My baby (1yo) 'nephew' is a joy to watch grow and help care for. Thankful to be here and alive I guess that about sums it up.

2012 was meh. I'll be glad when things get back to normal and there some money to be had out there... Times were better back in the day. Makes me miss 1984.

My 2012 started off pretty good as a business deal I've had with my family finally closed for the good after 5 years of not knowing which way it was going to go.

I got back together with my girlfriend after a 6 month split but then she suffered a huge tragedy when her father was killed in a workplace accident at the first of November and then 10 days later her step father had a massive heart attack while driving his 18 wheeler and died. She lost her aunt on Dec. 26th and her other uncle is in the hospital now after having an emergency open heart procedure.

So 2012 was an emotional roller coaster for us.
