I understand where you are coming from and I get your point, but how does one acquire a classy looking dress without money? Paris has a fantastic sense of style.

 

You can be rich and have class, but being rich doesn't make you classy.

 

I agree with you, but I think, and I could be wrong here, the term classy is being used for her appearance not her behavior.

Some people don't even realize what words mean yet assume it's someone else who is confused.
I am open to be corrected and am not trying to "win an internet argument" as that is pointless but the assertion that I am confused seems baseless.

Class is also a socioeconomic term commonly known in many parts of the world as upper, middle and lower class and it's based mostly on wealth, finances etc. I think the term classy quite suits her as she would be considered upper class by the average person's financial standard.

 

I know language is an evolving construct and can't always be pinned down to dictionary definitions and how words are used in the mainstream. There are many broad uses for words so I do see how the word can be used with other sensibilities in mind.

 

Are you kidding? Your confusion can be pointed out by your own posting of the definition. Integrity? High quality? Nope, those are two characteristics Paris has never had and will never have. I know I am not the one confused here. I can tell the difference between class and style. A turd wearing Gucci is still a turd.

 

No, I am actually not kidding. One does not have to tick off every aspect of a words possible meanings to make it appropriate.
And again financially speaking she is in fact upper class.

 

And a bum is in the lower class. Do we claim the bum has class because that bum belongs to a social class?
