Therefore, please do not use imagebam, or any host, that provides live playing gifs in those specific threads. If you see your gif playing once you post, try to use a smaller thumbnail and if that does not work use a different approved host.

Just a suggestion, but maybe we ought to go to a standardized date system on here. I often get confused by, for example:

    6-5-14.

Is that June 5th (American dates) or is that May 6th (European dates)?

Maybe we should go to a standardized dating system for posts. For example:

6-June-2014. Always write the month or month abbreviation: 6-Oct-2014 or Oct-6-2014 or June 6, 2014 or 6 June, 2014. Any of those would be acceptable, so long as the month is written or abbreviated to separate it from the number of the day.

What do you people think? I wouldn't say do that for all posts, just start with the ones from now on.

Yep, it's the best way along with using 4 digits for the year. Then there can be no ambiguity regardless of the order.

Though I do agree, don't take that as any kind of ruling because I don't decide these things.

    g. DATES: Conventions on presenting dates vary around the World, which occasionally leads to confusion. As an international Forum we're certainly not going to mandate a specific approach,
but we recommend using abbreviated English months (Jan, Feb, Mar, Apr, May, Jun, Jul, Aug, Sep, Oct, Nov, Dec) where using the numerical equivalent might be confusing.

Personaly i would say keep American dates, so 06-05-2014 is June 5th 2014. Just because Phun has it's servers in America.

In most of the threads in Celebs it's quite easy to find out because most new threads are of the month we are in at that time. Most don't start a thread in June while it are pics of May

I don't mean regulate the exact order, I just meant using letters for the month and numbers for the day instead of numbers for both.

Sometimes it's already hard to get 6-5-2014 in the title, letters even take up more space

Quoted dates are rarely critical, and only the first 12 days of any month (i.e. less than half the dates) can create any confusions, most of which are easily identifiable and resolvable anyway, so let's not get carried away! For a date that IS important and falls in that conventionally-confusing range, using abbreviated English months rather than the numerical equivalent seems perfectly reasonable to me, but may not be an acceptable alternative to some.

So as I said in "General Policy/Information", we're not going to "mandate" a particular convention - people tend to use the one they've grown up with, and I'm not going to start "criminalising" folk for simply using what comes naturally to them! Apart from which it's an International issue, not one that phun.org must solve on it's own!
