The first few episodes of Caprica didn't make logical sense to my girl or me, so we dumped it. The old BSG was much better.
Let me preface this by saying I absolutely loved BSG (until the last half of the last season, but that's another discussion entirely) and I was looking forward to Caprica more than any other show in recent memory.
Then I watched it
I dumped it after 4 episodes (I wanted to give it a chance and I wanted desperately to like it) but I just couldn't take it. It should have been called freaking BSG 90210 with the religious cult thing thrown in that FF mentioned.

First Terra Nova Pictures!
The show is set in the year 2149 when all life on the planet Earth is being threatened with extinction. Scientists have opened a door allowing people to travel back to prehistoric times. The Shannon family (father Jim, his wife Elisabeth, and their three children Josh, Maddy and Zoe) join the tenth pilgrimage of settlers to Terra Nova, the first human colony on the other side of the temporal doorway. However, they did not realize that they placed it in the middle of a group of carnivores.![]()

I'd never even heard of that
Looks like according to IMDB only the pilot has been filmed so far and that it will be shown some time in May here in the US.
Hopefully it gets good ratings so it can get on the Fall 2011 schedule or else FOX will dump it like they do everything else![]()

http://goo.gl/ZK4j6Caprica star Eric Stoltz has suggested that Battlestar Galactica fans were not happy with the show.
The actor, who played Daniel Graystone in the recently axed spinoff, told Den of Geek that the association with Battlestar hurt the series.
"I don't think [the show] was what the majority of Battlestar fans wanted," he claimed. "It probably would've served us all better to have not even been connected to it."
Stoltz admitted that he had been anticipating the show's cancellation prior to Syfy's October announcement.
"The fear of cancellation was always hanging over us like the sword of Damacles," he said. "We'd gotten used to it. In a way it sort of fuelled us on."
He added: "I'm blisfully unaware of any [fan] reaction at all, but I'm always a little afraid for the future of anything out of the ordinary."
Stoltz also revealed that there are elements from the series that he would have liked to have changed.
"It's rare for a show to find itself in the first season," he suggested. "I'm sure we were off balance at times, and I'm sure I would change a few things if I had that power, but I've moved on."
I demand them to continue with Firefly!![]()
