Lukin. Once again, Your fullsize pic shows why sig size is almost a shame with the 3d stuff.

yeah you tend to lose a lot of the finer details, which annoyingly are what you can spend hours refining! the only advantage is 3d often creates sharp unnatural edges, even with anti-aliasing, but when reduced to a small size, the edges soften and can look quite natural.

I havent really had a problem with edges, I just apply a 60° 2-3 px linear bevel to everything. It kills the edge lines without killing the definition and can be universally applied to a given edge. It's kinda slow to do all of them at once, but if you apply it as you go, I dont really notice a slow down in process. What really bugs me is the almost total loss of good transparency/lucency in dimension reduction. Stuff that looks really cool @ 1920x640 looks stupid @ 450x150. And file sizes, sheesh. You make something really great /ooking @ 3000x1000 and it's a whopping 300-400 megs rendered and saved to tiff. Saving it at reduced filesize in jpg gets the megs down but doesnt look as good as png. But png is a good bit too big to post to the normal hosts. We have the big file hosts but it usually isnt worth the upload time to bother with. I seem to burn out a lot faster on 3d than I do in normal work, probably due to ignorance vs comfort, lol. I'm finding tha combining the 2 forms is fun, but you can fuck up 2 separately good pics completely in no time trying to combine them.
