Yeah I typically spend 99% of my time working on the text in my sigs. It generally doesn't matter what subject matter you have; I mean anyone can slap some images together in PS. But nothing ruins a sig faster than quick one-off text that doesn't blend in or accentuate the overall composition. I like using different colors within the different parts of my text as well (eg. SOTW in white, 79 in a bold red, misc text in grey) it just adds a nice dynamic to it rather than having it all white. And imo working light into the text is almost crucial, so I just use clipping masks and white/black brushes to totally control the lighting. It's a lot more hands on than using any other light sources.
