Saurez scored a hat-trick, and good for Torres too.
I hope his lean patch is over as he is too good a player to stay down for such a long period.
    Thanks, AFX!

West Brom have granted the Football Association permission to speak to Roy Hodgson about the vacant England manager's position.

Hodgson, 64, has already spoken with FA chairman David Bernstein about replacing Fabio Capello.

Bernstein said: "Roy is the only manager we have approached and we remain on course to make an appointment within the timescale we set out.

"Further conversations will now take place with Roy."

Germany striker Lukas Podolski will join Arsenal from Cologne for the start of next season for an undisclosed fee.

The 26-year-old international began his career at Cologne in 2002 and joined Bayern Munich four years later before returning to his first club in 2009.

Podolski, who has 95 caps, said: "I'm so happy to be joining Arsenal and the Premier League. They are one of the top clubs in Europe with a huge history.

"There are many top-quality players at Arsenal and their style is fantastic."

He added: "I have made this decision not against FC Cologne but because it is a great opportunity.

"This was not an easy decision for me at all, as Cologne, our fans and the city are something special for me."

The Poland-born forward, who had one year left on his contract, has scored 18 league goals so far this season for a side battling relegation, which is his best ever top-flight return.

He added: "I will always carry FC Cologne in my heart. We need to pool our strengths now and have to be fully focused on our survival in the Bundesliga."

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger said: "He is a top-class player, a very good finisher and a proven performer at club and international level. He is a very strong player and will provide us with good attacking options."
Arsenal are looking to add to their striking options. While although Robin van Persie has netted 28 to become the Premier League's leading scorer, their next highest scorer is Theo Walcott on eight goals.

Well I always wonder why Martin O'Neill hasn't been given a chance.I think that he and Brian Clough are going to be the two best managers we've never had.As for Hodgson,I've had shits that have been more inspiring.

I don't think O'Neill would even consider the job if it was offered to him, particularly since the FA seem to have finally decided that it's not a good policy to throw millions of pounds to the nearest (seemingly) qualified manager for the role. On Hodgon's likely appointment, I have mixed feelings really. For me, if we're going to hire an Englishmen, than him and Arry are the only two candidates quite frankly. Pardew is the only other maybe, but for me that would be very premature given his pre-Newcastle record, and Pearce is a big fuck off after the diabolical football our under 21s played.

My view is that for the upcoming Euros there's no time to rejig tactics, so we need someone to motivate the players, and Arry "cor blimey guvna" Redknapp is the obvious choice for that. We'll be doing great if we just get out of our group quite frankly, whoever is managing . But, when it comes to a long term appointment I think Hodgson is the better option. After all, who better to take over the England job long term than a man who's reputation comes largely from getting mediocre teams to perform better?

Truth is not even Fergie, Wenger, Guardiola or Mourinho could win with this England team so whoever we hire is pretty irrelevant.

Terrible tactics from Fergie last night. I know United only needed a draw but to be so negative when your defense is so inconsistent was a strange game plan. Also, bringing Park back, who I believe hasn't played in ages, was asking a lot of him to put in a big performance. It's nice that there'll likely be new league champions this year, but a shame that it's another sugar daddy club.
