Juventus director Beppe Marotta has expressed his admiration for Arsenal skipper Robin van Persie,
but refused to comment on reports the recently-crowned Serie A champions are targeting the Dutchman for the upcoming transfer window.

Liverpool FC have revealed the brand new official home shirt and kit for the 2012-13 season.

Maybe it will bring the team better luck also!
    Thanks, AFX!

I'm sorry Liverpool phunners but that is a pretty ugly new kit. It's basically a generic red polo t-shirt with shitty writing on it. The Standard Chartered text is what ruins it; if it was in white it would look a whole lot better.

gotta disagree, i love the stripped back, old fashioned sort of look. and the yellow (or possibly gold, looking at player photos) really tones down the accents/highlights. i think white would be too much. as far as i'm concerned it's the best looking kit we've had for a while and i'll definitely be getting one shortly.

Each to his own. I still think it would look better if the sponsor text was in a different colour, or not there at all. I think just making it slightly smaller would improve it.

Liverpool kit launch sparks anger among Hillsborough families

    BBC

The launch of the new Liverpool home kit has prompted an angry response from a number of the families of those killed in the Hillsborough disaster.

The club's home shirt for the 2012-13 season, designed by American company Warrior, was revealed on Friday.
The Hillsborough Justice Campaign (HJC) said the actions were "insensitive".

The new shirt sees the club's logo, which featured an image of the Shankly Gates, replaced by the original Liver Bird crest that became synonymous with Liverpool's success in the 1970s and 80s. As a result the two Justice flames honouring the Hillsborough campaign have been moved to the back of the shirt.

Fans have welcomed the design, but the decision not to consult some families over the decision to move the symbol honouring the dead, has angered many.
    Thanks, AFX!

im probably gonna be preoccupied with getting drunk this afternoon to drown my sorrows that the local rivals win the premiership so im gonna post my team for the year. This is mainly based on my own observations this year and i have tried to put together a team that i think would work well together. Only based on PL off course.

    Goalkeeper:

    Peter Cech, Chelsea

Comment: Well it was a bit of a tough one between Cech, Krul and Hart but in the long run i want someone at the last outpost that are experienced and Cech has plenty of experience.

    Defense:

    Right Fullback: Kyle Walker, Tottenham
Left Fullback: Gael Clichy, Manchester City
Central Defender: Veincent Kompany, Manchester City
    Central Defender: Fabricio Coloccini, Newcastle

Comment: The only one in the backfour that was obvious to put there was Kompany off course he has been instrumental all year. I think Coloccini would work good together with the belgian they both run their respective defenses with big confidence. Cant really say that i have seen to much of good fullback work this year maybe because i like offense more than defense but i liked young Kyle Walker's game so he gets a spot.

    Midfield:

Right Winger: Antonio Valencia, Manchester United
Left Winger: David Silva, Manchester City
    Central Midfield: Ramires, Chelsea
    Central Midfield: Yohan Cabaye, Newcastle

Comments: The only player from my team this year Valencia he will give most fullbacks headache as he has done this year. Silva cant be excluded how you look at it he wont be on the left line to ofthen he has a free role and does what he pleases that is when he works his magic best. Central midfield should be dynamic to me so i wanted to guys that can do the boring defensive work but also is a threat offensively. Ramires and Cabaye does both well.

    Attackers:

    Luis Suarez, Liverpool
    Robin Van Persie, Arsenal

Comments: What can i say both guys has one thing on their mind out on the pitch and that is to score tons of goals and they both know where the goal is so that is my attackers for this year.

Not a bad team Flippy but I do not agree about your choice on Suarez. Aguero, Rooney, Ba, Cisse, Adebayor, Yakubu - all of them scored more goals and had much better season than Suarez.

The best midfielder this season imo is Clint Dempsey who have scored 17 goals and did lots assists. Really amazing player and he only gets better and better. I don't think that he will stay in Fulham for another season.

For a goalkeeper I'd pick Vorm over Cech because he did miracles for Swansea this season and he doesn't have Terry and Ivanovic in front of him.

I'm going to select 11 players of this season, as Flippy has done.

    Vorm
    Walker Ivanovic Kompany Evra
    Sturridge Touré Dempsey Bale
    Rooney VanPersie
