Haha. A funnier quote I heard this month was that one guy would wait until week 16-17 to give his playoff picture.
it's alot more fun to "predict" the playoffs before week 1 because it goes to show exactly how much we don't know anything at all.
Also, the most outlandish predictions in the world for the 2008 season look to be the only and actual one that came true, such as...
Drfc14 (From ESPN Conversation pages): Wait, can I get paid for making baseless predictions on professional sports? It's very easy to make bold statements like this when you have nothing to lose. Why don't you put your money where your mouth is on EVERY single one of those statements? Jesus ESPN, for real? I should have been a journalism major in college, I would be making bank telling people that Kurt Warner will lead the Cards to the Super Bowl and be league MVP.

Polamalu will be out for at least 3 weeks. Sprained MCL.
anyways, I'm a fan of the Eagles. 27-21 Eagles win against the Panthers on Sunday.
I really hope the Eagles try to resign Runyan.
Right now he is working out for the Bills but I want to see him come back even though they have Peters, and the Andrew brothers. I am concerned about depth. I am not sold on Winston Justice. He let the defense get to McNabb too often. He is very weak left tackle.

I'm sure a lot of people predicted the Patriots would have a big year last year. What good did that do them after Brady went down? Too much parity and violence to feel confident in any prediction.
Though I do feel confident in saying the Lions will stink.![]()

Thank you wilcott for that update. Polamalu can be out for upwards of 8 weeks (after the bye) if it is still only a sprain, yet is slow to recover from it.
I meant to update that tidbit, but the discussion for the moment was veering around predictions, so I was busy with that.
I really am vibing on this one person's predictions here: 148. Posted by justjc Thu Sep 10, 2009 11:28 am EDT
Eagles win the NFC East, Vikings and Redskins make the Playoffs, not Dallas and Giants

Is one of your teams in the division? I agree that it is a very interesting division this year in that it seems every one of the team's have said to have "upgraded" their defenses, and will all be better this year, but I don't know if they can honestly claim that without playing a single game yet. Also, not a one of the teams have a quarterback that has started more than a year for their respective team, so I think Rodgers has the most success as a quarterback there. I have yet to figure out if he alone can shoulder Green bay to the playoffs since there are still question marks with the defense and the run. The secondary is great, but it is considerably "aging" as well.
I think that the NFC East will once again be the best division in football, with the 3rd year in a row that none of the teams have a losing record, and perhaps it can also be the 3rd time in 5 years that three teams from the division reach the playoffs.

Well, I'm a Bears fan so...
Right now, I'm debating with myself whether I like the Packers or the Vikings to win the division. But I certainly won't be shocked if the Bears do. And naturally that is what I want to happen.
You may be right about the East. Though the Cowboys should be forfeited a game just for their new scoreboard.![]()

Where the hell was Royal in that game? My only complaint for this week.
I know it's early, but I'm going to say it: this is arguably the greatest week 1 display of great matchups and spectacular plays I've seen in the past eight years.

I mean, Detriot going to the last stretch of the 4th Qtr still had less than 200 total yards of offense, yet they were still within 10 points of Drew Brees & Co. And talking about NO, eight different receivers, over 350 yrds passing, and 6 TDs, wow... Drew Brees now looks like he deserved every bit of hype he had for this season.
