    G.P. of Brazil:

    1. Webber
    2. Vettel
    3. Button

Gearbox problems for S.V. at least allowed old Marky Mark a chance to stand on the top step once this season. Button's McLaren was, by his own admission, lousy on the soft option tires but a marvel on the medium primary compound, and that allowed that he easily get by Alonso and grab the last podium spot. Otherwise, no rain and no real drama. Bad luck for Lewis who could have made things more interesting in the final laps. Also, nice to see 'little' Sauber take 7th in Constructor's points, beating out Toro Rosso.

    Damn; it's over.

To quote Raymond Chandler, one of my favorite writers, from The Long Goodbye:

"The French have a phrase for it. The bastards have a phrase for everything and they are always right. To say goodbye is to die a little."

An end to a great season! Roll on next year! And congrats to Button who was nearly as untouchable as Sebastien!

I don't know how serious Vettel's gearbox problems were. At one point when he was supposed to be having those troubles he posted the fastest lap of the race and was then told not to do that anymore or something to that effect. I think maybe Red Bull decided to throw Webber a bone and gift him a win in exchange for him being a good boy this year and not causing any friction in the team.

Even Webber himself was nonchalant after the race was over like he knew something was up.

This could have been Reubens Barrichello's last race in F1 after 19 years in the sport. If it is I will be sad to see him go.

Rally driver Sebastien Ogier upstaged Formula One's superstars as he won the Race of Champions in Dusseldorf.

The Peugeot WRC driver beat eight-times Le Mans 24 hours winner Tom Kristensen in the final.

"Just to reach the final was great on my first appearance, so to win it is just fantastic," said Ogier, who came third in this year's world rally championship.

The German crowd's hopes of another home winner -- following the triumph of Sebastian Vettel and Michael Schumacher in Saturday's team event -- were dashed when the pair came up against each other in the quarter-finals.

Schumacher beat Vettel in that match but then lost to Kristensen in the semi-finals.

German Formula One duo Michael Schumacher and Sebastian Vettel won the Race of Champions team event in Dusseldorf for a fifth successive year.

Seven-times champion Schumacher and reigning world champion Vettel beat Denmark’s Tom Kristensen, an eight-times winner of the Le Mans 24 Hour Race, and Juho Hanninen, the Finnish rally driver.

“Five, that’s great,” said Vettel, after the two rounds to nil victory.

“We’re proud to have our names on the trophy once again,” Schumacher added.

Both Schumacher and Vettel will be back in action in the individual race on Sunday.

even if certain races might have been very interesting and great, the season as a whole pretty much died for me the longer it went. Vettel is the new Schumacher but he is to dominant.

Afternoon/evening all. Don't know if there's any interest in this, but if you're like me, you're already anxious for the start of the 2012 MotoGP season.

Here's a MotoGP classic in the big time wet from Suzuka, Japan in 2002 that features a 23 year old "Doctor" (Valentino Rossi for the search, and those not in the know ) riding his Repsol RC211V.

Please consider this your screen caps gents. It's a 1 minute preview that I've upped.

Default Peugeot withdraws from LeMans racing

Very sad news indeed. Peugeot has decided to withdraw from endurance racing effective immediately. I've really enjoyed the Audi/Peugeot battles over these last few years. I feel I was very fortunate to see them in person at Road Atlanta every fall.

i really expected it to be another dominant display by the mclaren today seeing how nice their cars seem to work but boy was i mistaken. The weather is a huge factor in Malaysia and it was no different this time around to put it bluntly either its humid, dry and very hot or the rain is flooding the circuit this time around it was the latter. Jenson Button who usually is a great driver on wet circuits was gone almost immediatly and never got into the race. Hamilton had to play second violin behind Perez and Alonso. Vettel slashed his tire in the end and missed the points but to be honest both Red Bulls has a lot of things to think about they were never close to winning this. No offense to Alonso that won but god how i wanted Perez to win he was by far behind the wheel of the best car today. He made a mistake in the end and slid of the track otherwise he would have won it. Incredible race.

It was a good race today in as much as everything leading up to the lights going out apparently meant very little (i.e., Qualifying, Practice and even winter testing) and that, damn it, is why we watch! And unless you're made of stone you had to feel great for Perez and Sauber today. Maybe things will settle back by the time the Chinese Grand Prix happens in three weeks or maybe this will give Ferrari the kick in the pants they need and maybe Perez & Sauber can continue to show that today was hardly a fluke.

    Cool

Good afternoon gents! 9 days until the start of the 2012 MotoGP season!
Qatar will be a welcome sight.

MotoGP is far too tight assed with their vids.

A few recent snaps from the winter (final) test track in Jerez, Spain........

And a quick lap from last month at Sepang w/Casey Stoner on the new scoot.

I can't wait for the new season gents. I get a "stirring in the loins" just thinking about it. I guess you could say......

Double Mercedes on the starting grid since Hamilton had a penalty that made him loose 5 positions on the qualy result. Great start from both McLarens as well as Mercedes. I guess the question on my lips were ar they finally gonna get a win or are the cars gonna end up in the garages again or loose the race on to big tyre degredation. Well The only car that didnt made it to the finish line was Schumacher. Something got messed up in the pits possibly one of the tires werent screwed on as it should. There were some worries in the end for Rosberg but when Buttons team mates in the pits completely messed up his final pitstop it was smooth sailing for the german so finally a win for Mercedes. A rather uneventful race to be honest more a case of a tactical race from the teams pitwise but nothing could disrupt Rosbergs win. Still problems for Red Bull they arent fast enough on the long straights which was necessary on China but a small step in the right direction.
