Now it looks like the date will change! Will this fight happen??

Thank you!
I thought that originally, but the clip cuts off before he gets down on his knees and bows to Thiago. I think it was a case of him being happy for his first win in the UFC (after a long wait) and probably over-celebrating before showing his opponent at least some respect afterwards. He said good things about Thiago in his post-fight interview, so I don't think that there was meant to be anything nasty about the celebration.

Aoki-Alvarez II is obviously the thing to see here, but I think it's worth checking out just for that. If you've never seen either guy, it's your classic striker-vs-submissions matchup, and both are top of their class. 3 years ago, Aoki caught Alvarez with a heel hook.
It's official:
Alistair Overeem pulled from fight
Updated: April 21, 2012
By Brett Okamoto | ESPN.com
The UFC has pulled Alistair Overeem from a heavyweight title fight scheduled against Junior dos Santos on May 26 in Las Vegas.
UFC president Dana White announced Friday that the champion dos Santos will instead face former titleholder Frank Mir.
"May 26th is now Mir vs. JDS for the (heavyweight) title in Las Vegas," White said.
Mir originally had been scheduled to face Cain Velasquez on the same card. It is unknown at this time whether Velasquez will receive a new opponent.
Overeem (36-11) earned a shot at the UFC title with a first-round TKO victory over Brock Lesnar late last year, but that opportunity became threatened when he failed a random drug test last month.
The heavyweight tested positive for an elevated level of testosterone, with a testosterone-to-epitesterone ratio of 14:1. The Nevada State Athletic Commission allows athletes up to a 6:1 ratio. The average male produces a 1:1 ratio.
Overeem is scheduled to appear in front of the NSAC on April 24 to apply for a license to fight within the state. The UFC was expected to wait for the result of the hearing, but ultimately decided to move on.
When asked on a conference call after the failed test was announced what it meant for Overeem's future in the UFC, White responded, "It doesn't look good."
Mir (16-5) will enter the title fight riding a three-fight win streak, including a first-round submission win over Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira in December. The longtime UFC veteran won the title in June 2004 with a win over Tim Sylvia.
His management team told ESPN.com that Mir plans to speak publicly on the opportunity next week.
Dos Santos (14-1) will look to record his 10th consecutive win and remain unbeaten in the UFC. He won the title via a 64-second knockout of Velasquez last November.

A nice uppercut from Alvarez. Aoki didn't seem to react, although it was hard to tell if he was dazed or just unprepared. Either way, the Fedor-esque diving right hand is what put him away. The hailstorm that convinced the ref to pull the plug was just the icing on the cake (Can I mix my metaphors, or what?).
Interestingly, the television commentators claimed that the referee wasn't obliged to acknowledge the towel that Aoki's corner threw, even if he saw it. I can't confirm that, but it does seem to undermine the whole idea behind throwing in the towel.
I think the win has to put Alvarez back in the Top 10, and back at #2 on the list of guys who should graduate to the UFC (#1 being Gilbert Melendez - now there's a matchup I'd like to see).
I didn't see the fight tonight, but Jones is obviously going to have to be shifted to heavyweight. The LH division is toast. No one is going to beat him.
And, if I hadn't already stated it enough, OVEREEM IS A FUCKING ASSHOLE.
My heart belongs to Winona Ryder.
The fight went about how I (and probably everyone else) expected it to. From the announcement of the fight, I wondered how Rashad would approach the challenge. I suppose Dan Henderson is next.
I agree that nobody looks likely to defeat Jones right now. Anderson Silva, Jose Aldo and Georges St. Pierre look similarly bulletproof to me. As for moving to another division, I think the UFC could only offer them more money. Every fight is a separately-negotiated contract, they can't just assign a fighter to a weight class at their whim, and none of those guys has any other reason to want to move.
They might be able to find someone at a higher weight class who could drop down, but not easily. I don't know how easy it is for shorter guys like Cain Velasquez or Daniel Cormier to drop ~40lbs. I've long thought that Rashad Evans could be an interesting opponent for Anderson Silva, if he could cut the weight. Gegard Mousasi looked like The Next Big Thing at middleweight when he was 22, but 4 years later he seems content being a mediocre light-heavyweight instead. I see no middleweights who look capable of dropping to welterweight; Shields and Akiyama already have, and a number of current UFC middleweights are former light-heavyweights. Frank Edgar is an obvious choice to challenge Jose Aldo, but he wants the rematch with Ben Henderson.
In other news, Rory MacDonald looks like the kid who bags your groceries at the store, but he's a damned beast.
Travis Browne may be the real deal too. Ben Rothwell looked fitter than he's ever been, and can probably KO anybody, but I'm not sure about him yet. The heavyweight division gets bigger and more interesting.
