I've often thought about a punishment for a crime that could fix the problem rather than just throwing a person in a worse hole than they started in and the best idea I have so far come up with is that anyone who commits a crime has to endure all the pain that crime brought upon others. So that this murderer would have to live through, and understand the agony he has caused every person who was affected emotionally by this. I think that understanding of the pain caused would alter a person.

Unfortunately such a thing is impossible.

Perhaps it is possible, not likely...
If you somehow made animations about evil things and were able to take a simple photo and replicate family members and subject those animations to various forms of evil you you create simulations and play them for children, see if they have an emotional response... but this could easily be considered torture and quite honestly could be too disturbing for children.. It could weed out 'emotionless' kids though. I have always been in agreement with "eye for an eye" I would love to only serve 10 days in jail and be able to punch the racist black idiot while he sits down defenseless with a blindfold on! That would be JUSTICE for me personally...but people don't understand things many times in life until they go through them or until they mature..and that varies from person to person. some people could be mature at age 12 and others it could take until they are age 65.

What amazes me is this woman... she had that right and she chose not to...I can't say I could or would choose the same.
