When the news hit that a new writer -- Etan Coehn -- had been hired to work on the script for the long awaited Ghostbusters threequel, fans got their hopes up that Bill Murray would finally commit to star as Peter Venkman. The actor actually did recently tease that his return to the franchise was a "possibility", but alas it seems we can forget about that now. Dan Aykroyd spoke to Metro about the movie, and confirms that it will be moving ahead without Murray.

"We've got a brilliant new writer on it and we'll be passing the torch onto a [new] generation. We're working on it to make it just right to satisfy our fans. I'm confident we'll be in production in the next year. We've got the studio on side. We've tried a few concepts which weren't right but now we've got a good structure and will make it happen."
When asked if Bill Murray was finally on board, Aykroyd replied..

"No, I can tell you he won't be involved. It's sad but we're passing it on to a new generation. Ghostbusters 3 can be a successful movie without Bill. My preference would be to have him involved but at this point he doesn't seem to be coming and we have to move on. It's time to make the third one."

On the night before an old friend’s wedding, three frisky bridesmaids go searching for a little fun but find much more than they bargained for. With lovely Becky (Rebel Wilson) set to marry her handsome sweetheart, Dale (Hayes MacArthur), the remaining members of her high school clique reunite for one last bachelorette bacchanal in the Big Apple. Regan (Kirsten Dunst) is an overachieving, ueber-Maid of Honor who’s secretly smarting over the fact that she’s not the first to marry, while Gena (Lizzy Caplan) is a whip-smart sarcastic who’s actually a closet romantic, and Katie (Isla Fisher) is a ditzy beauty who loves the good life. But when Becky insists on keeping the bachelorette party tame, the women proceed with an after-hours celebration of their own.

New 'X-Men' movie to be called ...
The “X-Men: First Class” sequel won’t bow until July 2014, but speculating about it is bound to be easier now that producer Bryan Singer has shared the flick’s title with fans.

The James McAvoy- and Michael Fassbender-starrer will be called “X-Men: Days of Future Past.” The title comes from the ‘80s comic of the same name and is set in a dystopian future (which should be familiar to “Hunger Games” star Jennifer Lawrence, who plays Mystique in the franchise.)

“There will be elements that will be similar to the original ‘Days of Future Past,’ but there will also be some original elements,” Singer told CNN. “I can't really say more about it. I will only say that it's a very ambitious project and it definitely widens out the X-Men universe.”
    Thanks, AFX!
