I know there are some Brits here, as well as Americans besides myself who watch UK shows when they can...

The 2011 BAFTA Television award nominees:

    Leading Actor
Jim Broadbent - Any Human Heart (Channel 4)
Benedict Cumberbatch - Sherlock (BBC One)
Daniel Rigby - Eric and Ernie (BBC Two)
Matt Smith - Doctor Who (BBC One)

    Leading Actress
Anna Maxwell Martin - South Riding (BBC One)
Vicky McClure - This Is England ’86 (Channel 4)
Natalie Press - Five Daughters (BBC One)
Juliet Stevenson - Accused (BBC One)

    Supporting Actor
Brendan Coyle - Downton Abbey (ITV1)

Gillian Anderson - Any Human Heart (Channel 4)
Lynda Baron - The Road to Coronation Street (BBC Four)
    Lauren Socha - Misfits (E4)
Jessie Wallace - The Road to Coronation Street (BBC Four)

They have 3 different categories for drama - "Drama Series", "Drama Serial" and "Continuing Drama" - but I don't know what the distinctions are.

    Drama Series
    Being Human
    Downtown Abbey
    Misfits
    Sherlock

    Drama Serial
    Any Human Heart
    Mad Dogs
    The Sinking of the Laconia

    Coronation Street
    EastEnders
    Waterloo Road

    International
    Boardwalk Empire

I've cherry-picked just a few. The full list of awards nominations can be found at http://www.bafta.org/awards/televisi...,BA.html#jump0 .

Nice. I didn't know it had been renewed. These days, I just assume that any show I enjoy watching is in danger of being canceled.

Who's coming back in Season 2?

As 'Spartacus' fans know, there was much bloodshed at the end of both the first season and the prequel season. But when season 2 begins, there will be a host of familiar faces for Spartacus to contend with as he leads his fellow slaves in a revolt against the Roman regime.

    • As most fans know, the drama's title role has been recast. Liam McIntyre is taking over the role of Spartacus and Andy Whitfield is not returning due to his ongoing cancer battle.

    • Lucretia (Lucy Lawless), who had a nasty stab wound at the end of 'Spartacus: Blood and Sand,' will nevertheless be back in season 2. "it was just a little poke in the tummy," Lucy Lawless told a recent press gathering. "Put a poultice on it, she'll be all right."

    • Gannicus (Dustin Clare), a gladiator who got his freedom at the end of the prequel season, will return for the show's second season.

    • Crixus (Manu Bennett), a House of Batiatus champion and, eventually, a friend to Spartacus, will return for season 2.

    • Oenomaus/Doctore (Peter Mensah) will be back also. Let's face it, 'Spartacus' isn't 'Spartacus' without this magisterial man cracking his trusty whip.

    • Ilythia (Viva Bianca) will return in Season 2, 'Spartacus' creator Steven S. DeKnight confirmed Friday on Twitter. I certainly don't expect this Roman noblewoman and Lucretia to be BFFs in future; as you'll recall, once Ilythia saw members of Batiatus' household beginning their murderous rampage, she ensured that Lucretia and her husband were locked inside the house with their angry slaves. I'm betting that makes for a tense reunion in future.

    • Ashur (Nick E. Tarabay) will return for season 2, with lots of plots and schemes up his sleeve, no doubt.

    • The character Naevia, a slave loved by Crixus, will return, but Lesley-Ann Brandt will no longer play the role. Producers are recasting Naevia, who will return in season 2.

    • Mira (Katrina Law), a slave who helped Spartacus in 'Blood and Sand,' will return in Season 2.

    • Vettius (Gareth Williams), a ludus owner and an enemy of Batiatus in 'Gods of the Arena,' will not return in season 2.

    • Legatus Glaber (Craig Parker), Ilythia's husband and the man responsible for Spartacus' enslavement, will be back in season 2. He'll be "hot on [the] heels" of the escaped slaves, according to a story by Matt Fowler of IGN.

The New York Post is reporting that Javier Bardem has officially signed on to star as Roland Deschain in the film adaption of 'The Dark Tower'...
We've been hearing a lot of rumors about who will be cast in the role of Roland Deschain, the rumors have suggested names like Christian Bale, Viggo Mortenson, and Javier Bardem.

Well now The New York Post is reporting that Bardem has now officially signed on to star as the old west gunslinger Roland Deschain.

"Javier Bardem has officially signed an epic deal to star in the movie and TV adaptations of Stephen King's "Dark Tower" book series. The Oscar-winning actor will play Roland Deschain in the eagerly awaited Ron Howard and Brian Grazer adaptation of King's beloved seven-novel saga.

It's a momentous deal because each of the three movies in the series is to be followed by a TV miniseries. A well-placed source confirmed to Page Six, "Bardem has signed on to the first movie and the miniseries, but the intention is that he will star in all three movies and each of the TV series. It's an enormous deal for any actor, but Bardem was always the first choice."
The Old West-inspired fantasy epic sees Deschain on a journey to find the mythical Dark Tower, with the hope of saving civilization.

EW has exclusively learned that Cynthia Addai-Robinson is the new Naevia, who you’ll recall fell in love with gladiator Crixus during season one and is now on the run with Spartacus and the revolting slaves for season two.

Addai-Robinson was previously in ABC’s Flash Forward and appeared in shows like CSI: NY and and Numbers. She’s repped by Pantheon Talent and Liebman Entertainment.
