Anybody watching Smallville? I had been enjoying this last season until (spoilers)

they crammed Connor Kent into who was supposed to be the new lex. (shrugs) how the hell are they gonna bring back lex now? Basically, i want the suit, i want flying, i want lex back and i wanna see Superman vs. Darkseid.

I've read all the books, they are amazing...as good as fantasy fiction can get..but watching the trailer and inside peek ...I don't know...none of the characters are exactly what I imagined them to be...and I'm doubt if hey can fit the complete story line into a series......guess we'll just have to wait and see.

I've never read the books and I don't want to pay for HBO. Still, I'm into fantasy and such, so if I get the chance to see it I'm sure I will.

Does anyone here watch "No Ordinary Family"? It's becoming an interesting study in how a person with super-powers might become a super-villain. As someone who's read comic-books off and on for decades, and is also a student of psychology and sociology, I'm downright enthralled.

SPOILERS BELOW (highlight white text to read)

I predict that Daphne will, someday in the future, turn out to be the mysterious supervillain that her parents will have been pursuing. Her character progression is a nice "baby steps" journey to full-fledged villainy. Which is, really, how it would probably happen most of the time. Few people just wake up one day and decide to rob houses or con people. She's not a psychopath or a sociopath (and to emphasize the point, not all psychopaths and sociopaths become criminals) she's just a well-meaning teenager using her powers in increasingly unethical ways.

It's like the boiling water metaphor for gradual change; often, our ability to discern a series of small, incremental changes over time is quite poor. Religious cults and abusive spouses use it to entrap people, encouraging us to take small leaps of faith, make small compromises, exercise small lapses in judgment, one foot after the other. As an analogy, note how different a person looks after you haven't seen them for 10 or 20 years; if you saw that person every day over those same 20 years, those very same changes in their appearance wouldn't be startling at all.

J.J. caught on to what Daphne was doing in last night's episode, but he didn't think about the ramifications either (which I thought was great - he's a teenager too, after all). I hope the writers don't lose their nerve and have Daphne rescued from turning to The Dark Side too soon or too easily. Her progression to supervillain could be 1000% more realistic and compelling than Hayden Christensen's in the Star Wars prequels or Famke Janssen's in the X-Men movies.

Oh, and "The Good Wife"? Those two scenes with Kalinda were the hottest shit I've seen on television in a good long while.

Think its pretty much guarenteed that none of that will happen. They have already ruled out flight and the suit as not happening. They feel that the suit and flight symbolizes superman which this show is not about.

yeah, and the campi-ness aside, I kind of dig it

been trying to give Warehouse 13 the benefit of the doubt for 2 seasons now, because the premise is outstanding, it just hasn't fully delivered yet

Fringe- I think I've mentioned in another thread, is brilliant, as is Dexter.

I also started to give Justified a shot, and I'm glad I did. Very well done "cop" show

I watched some of No Ordinary Family and get the feeling it's a spin-off of The Incredibles. I do like it, but I find myself channel surfing during commercials and not really compelled to return before it continues.
