    Oh my God! After 10 years I've finally been able to log in to this forum having found my old details written on a piece of paper! I just want to say THANK YOU to anyone who contributed to this thread. I only recently got up to date with the near 1000 pages. Looked at 'em all. You are doing Gods work haha! It's a shame it's quietened down from the old days and there's arguably other places to look for this kind of stuff now but there's no doubt this is where it all began. Don't let it die!!!!

    Each file is minimally compressed, about 10MB each. From left to right, original and increasing levels of aggressive xray treatement.

    Technical note: Since source pics are from 1987, the photographer likely used a high-end film scanner which shines a very bright back light to project the negative against a scanning device; while there are no moire artifacts, color bloom and intense saturation is evident. To get at the hidden details, we need to actually do something that is counter-intuitive ... reduce saturation!

    • Split the original image into HLS planes (or better, HSB planes); save the saturation plane.
    • After creating the usual masks for her dress, the monochromatic dress is overlayed and blended (averaged).
    • The monochrome dress is then subjected to the usual 'multiply' method.
    • Using the Saturation plane, Color from high values are combined from original while the rest are from the monochromatic dress shades.
    • Keep blending until desired effect is attained.

    BTW, The nude rendering in the 2013 game (Beyond: Two Souls) seems quite accurate except for her recent weight gain; the 3D scans used to model her were probably real. The game designers should push the boundaries and try something like Japanese-style erotica, but uncensored ;)

    Yes we use PS (and GIMP too). The CIELAB color space is designed to include all perceivable colors and should prove useful. Personally, I find it overkill but do try it. As far as step-by-step procedures, only experience by trial-and-error will get you results; peruse this HUGE thread for tons of examples and instructables.
