    Clint Eastwood - 82
    Robert Duvall - 81
    James Earl Jones - 81
    Sean Connery - 81
    Mel Brooks - 86
    Gene Hackman - 82
    William Shatner - 81

Unless they're ailing, I wouldn't give a second thought to any of those in their 80s hanging around for quite a while longer, and Betty is pretty damn spry for 90. She could be with us a while yet too.

However, it just so happens that someone who is world famous for something entirely different has recently left us. Sergio Pininfarina, 85, designer of elegant Ferraris (and other fine autos) passed away last Tuesday.

    So what?
Should we start worrying about these living legends?

We should rejoice their work and their longevity.

Its those who die in youth that saddens us.
    Thanks, AFX!

I think the case I was trying to make is that with me personally I think the talent in movies has dropped considerable in the past 15-20 years and the fact the a lot of the good actors/actresses are close to being gone and were going to have to deal with horrible movies with people like Kristen Stewart and people like that who's acting talent is horrible.

I just hate to see the great talents close to being gone

What a load of tosh. You are just holding on to an era that feels relevant to you. There are some amazing actors in there 20s 30s and 40s.

No I wont deny there are some good actors in movies right now...like a few of my favorites are Adrien Brody, Edward Norton, Benicio Del Toro, Christoph Waltz, Tim Roth, and I think Johnny Depp is a great actor.

But the people being pushed like Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattison, Channing Tatum, Jennifer Aniston (Dont get me wrong she is hot but not a great actress) Taylor Lautner, Ryan Reynolds, and there are tons more that are just horrible actors/actresses

but it's kids going to watch those films. Do you not think any of the actors you listed in the op started off as child actors or on tv shows? They aren't making twilight for you or me. Look to true grit, we need to talk about Kevin, the kings speech or the independent scene for a reference. That dude that died this week was an okay actor. Let's be honest, he is not a Hollywood legend.

Unfortunately due to the ages of all the listed , they are all pretty much on borrowed time and a safe bet in anyones death pool.
Wow , i woulda never guessed Shatner to be 81... Huh

Borgnine was a better actor than the 7 I named off and I mean I have never known myself to think someone is a bad actor or so because he or she stars in a movie like the twilight series If I thought they actually did good jobs in those movies I would give them the credit I think they deserve...its just the fact that I don't think they did great jobs acting in those movies...and the fact that Kristen Stewart is even getting paid to act is madness...she even did horrible in Snow White and the Huntsman...only thing that made that movie bearable was Charlize Theron's amazing acting.

You seem to want to watch shit films and find great acting. Rather peculiar. And I really don't understand how Kristen Stewart is being held up as some sort of representation of modern 'talent'. She is the most over rated one dimensional actor out there.

Hate to disagree with you Gaps...

Borgnine IS a legendary CHARACTER actor, not a leading man but there are plenty of those. Your point about there being good actors today and how it takes time for them to reach the heights the older generation has IS well taken though.

one of the reasons I think Kristen Stewart is being held up as the representation of modern talent is being this year she became the highest paid actress in Hollywood...I think that really proves something about todays films...and no I don't like watching shit films just to find great acting...The past few weeks I've watched movies like The Pianist, Scent of a Woman, The Experiment, Red State, The Veteran, Donnie Brasco, Way of the Gun, Boy Wonder, and War of the Arrows...all to be honest were great movies with great acting

Also all the movies I listed are on Netflix and great movies
