Don Rickles (86) - I have never seen him live and I really hope I get a chance sometime this year (maybe in October in Vegas) to catch him in person before he pisses off the wrong Puerto Rican with a switchblade in his audience.

There have been plenty of overrated, over-hyped actors/actresses in the long history of Hollywood. Even so, I believe we develop a fondness for many of them as the years roll by. We often associate the films they were in (for good or bad) with some pleasant event or time in our lives. I never will look back fondly on any film with an ABBA soundtrack though. Barf.

And speaking of Rickles, [because they are such great friends] I'd love to see Bob Newhart (I have no idea how old he is, must be getting up there though).

Big difference between yesterday's actors and today's: actors such as Ernest Borgnine, Jimmy Stewart, and even Errol Flynn actually joined the military when duty called. They didn't feel they were too good to serve their country. Today's actors love putting on uniforms and play-acting as soldiers, especially if there is some political statement to be made by doing so, but they'd never dream of lowering themselves actually to serve.

Yeah, I thought a non sequitur was called for in order to break the "that guy sucks" "no he doesn't, you suck" spiral the thread had spun into. A feeble attempt, I'll admit.

I did serve, actually. I did four years in the Air Force after finishing high school and before going to college. Serving in the military was one of the responsibilities and virtues my father impressed upon me.

You can't really compare actors or actress from now with those from the past, both are just as good just in their time.
Don't get it why people allways need to slag nowedays actors off with shit like ooh they were better in the past bla bla.
Maybe u shouldn't have watched those old movies so u didn't have to complain now think about that.
Ofc some actors or actress are better or worse then others, if u don't like them don't watch the movies there in problem solved right

but she can play ( at least a a child , and if she take now good script Im sure she could handle it) Stewart on the other hand best perfomance was in Zathura. She's terrible all "Snow White" she's moaning, and have open mouth-she probably thinks it's sexy, but she looked like retarted.End of the world was wen om Hanks get Oscar for "Forrest Gump" - for me it should be Jeff Bridges for "Fearless"
