You don't need to be an American to find repetitive and banal comments tiresome. For me, that's what it boils down to, a lack of originality. How many times must we be reminded that someone likes anal sex? We get it, move on, go see a psychologist about your pathological need to express the same sentiment over and over and over a gain - no matter what it is.

Showing tact is not limited to censoring what you think or feel, it can also mean having enough common sense to recognize when other people begin to suspect you're an idiot and making necessary adjustments to disabuse them of the notion.

We have no intention of banning anyone for this. Being annoying is not against the rules, except in extreme cases like serious trolling. I think most people have missed the point on this topic. There's comes a point when the community becomes fed up with certain repetitive nonsense that anyone with even a modicum of intelligence would recognize, and therefore, if they possessed a shred of common sense, they would either shut up or change tactics. That is common behavior in the real world. On the internet, people don't care if they achieve the status of pariah because no matter what, they're still free to go about the community in the same old way, doing the same old thing, unless someone like me (in this case, a mod) makes that decision for the community. But guess what? I'm not here to censor speech, though it's well within my purview to do so. No, I'd much rather the community as a whole reach a compromise on what it finds acceptable, and what it does not. Once that consensus has been reached, then I can enforce it equitably across the board.
