    It's a consequence of Twitter and other sm I'm afraid. It seems the writers get caught up with the shipper fandom then build the show around the soap opera love shenanigans.
    Same thing happened to Lucifer this whole season is just one long love triangle and the characters and story is taking a backseat.

    the actress is fine. and she's hot. but the character is tiresome. when they made her team leader I just stopped caring. She was a reporter who couldn't figure out Barry was the Flash and now she's running the team...what?

    She got powers and they tried another angle. I actually like shows like this and Gotham which don't follow cannon. As they have flaws and aren't Betty Sues or Jaydens then I'm ok with it. I think it was a plot device to show Barry without powers.
