    I think not. Baseball has many characteristics one could associate with English cricket - interminable, slow, even slower than that, and requiring good quality binoculars or TV instant replay to appreciate the niceties!
    I don't see the point other that for social or cultural reasons?

    Basketball simply never entered my head as a possible alternative, otherwise I'd have checked.

    Nope, never made it to an NBA game. Basketball has never been a passion of mine. I did like playing Horse though growing up.
