    Maybe one of the old timers can comment, but I seem to recall that Phun used to keep track of how many times you hit the "like" button. That was a good incentive to click "like" since your number counter would go up, even if it didn't count towards changing your name color.
    Since it stopped keeping track of that number though, the only way to increase your activity level is to leave a comment, even if it's just a single word. Because of that, a comment has much more power than a "like".
