    i haven't hunted on public land in a few years. I'd love to try again but the closest one in my area is an hour and a half drive away and they are always packed full of hunters since we have close to 11 million people living in the metropolitan area i live in. Way to many people and not enough public land to hunt on. So i make my 3 times a year trek to Modoc and get my hunting fix done there on private land. :-?

    Yea, I live outside of my metroplex area and there is about 1500 acres in the little county I live in for public hunting so it doesn't get to crowded, plus in texas you have to pay and 50$ to hunt public land.

    the last time i was on a public hunt was opening day dove hunting, i swear to you there were people spaced no more than 10 yards apart. I felt so bad for the doves cause each time they tried to get to the safflower they have to weave through a gauntlet of shotgun blasts so i went home not shooting a single one. :lol:
