My mind is spacially disoriented lately.

 

That will be the best decision you ever made. I finally quit after smoking for 40 years. I still smoke in my dreams though. That freaked me out at first, it would startle me awake, worrying I had relapsed. But now I kind of enjoy those dreams.

 

both parents has quit smoking. Mom a bit later in life than dad. They both do snuff now and while i dont like that either atleast they only hurt themselves doing it. It translated to snuff for me but i think you friends now it as chewing tobacco.

 

Yeah, snuff goes up your nose. I'm not even certain what it is. I know several people who went from smoking to chewing. Nicotine is a tough addiction to break.

 

this is small bags you put under your lip for a couple of minutes. So some sort of tobacco.

 

I miss the actual figure movement, the holding of the cigarette, plus I was a chain smoker after eating which really is disgusting.

My childhood asthma returned so I had to give it up and the smoking bans worked before that.

But it really its a mugs game, you're paying a lot of money to ruin your health.

Personality I'd avoid all "Smoking" products, gum, snuff and especially vaping (popcorn lung), its not worth it.

Leonard Nimoy (Spock) had been a heavy smoker.

He had given up smoking for 30 years when he developed COPD.

James I of England (VI of Scotland) had it right on smoking.

 

i will say that im of the belief that a human is free to choose whether it wants to do something or not so it isnt up to me to tell someone to stop smoking. I will support if they wish to stop though. But it must be their choice otherwise it doesnt work.

 

I wish I had all that money back. It makes me cringe now when I think of it.

 

I can relate to this but in my case its woth online poker. I had a spell a few years back when i was curious about it. It starts so innocently. 50 bucks on the table before you know it your down 100 dollars. I was an easy mark but i figured it out in time. Now ignore everything regarding online gambling. Even friendly games with friends after a few beers in the evening is off, its not a nice feeling knowing you cant control yourself.

 

I knew someone who worked in a computer shop (they were a partner in it) during quiet times in the shop she'd play online gambling.
It was innocent, it was fun, it was filling in time, she didn't have to go anywhere to do it.

This progressed to playing at home while watching TV, it was warm, feet up, it was a bit of fun.

Occasionally she won!

She also lost, but next time she'd win wouldn't she, she lost, but then she'd win and she put her winnings on betting again,
because all she had to do was win once more and she could clear her debts.

She lost and lost, then won... then lost.


Long story cut short, she got into such debt, she lost her business.

Big time, I'm not going to be a ex-smoker who preaches on and on about it, I have a mate who spends £40/$52/e46 a week on cigarettes.

I tell them, I'd rather you didn't, but smoke away.

He has problems staying at hotels, friends houses because of... Where am I going to smoke?

I've seen "The Irishman" and I think I may rewatch "Fleabag" 1&2 in January.
