Yea, although I must say there are times that I wish i went to a conventional 4 year school for the partying and what not but then i probably would not have graduated:)

they are still trying to come up with enough money, the job is mine but they aren't paying enough yet.

Yep, we missed out on all of that in college :( But I only lived about 15 miles from another college campus. When I was in high school working I met a guy who pitched on there baseball team and used to party when them. That was some fun shit, and I probably wouldn't have finished either:p

Yeah, you said Friday that they were going to try and come up with more money - just didn't know if you heard back from them or not.

I would say NOT - hell, that's close to a 1/3 of my salary - no way I could ever take that much of a cut.

14 years at the same place, that's impressive, my resume only goes back to show 13 years of work and that's starting work when I was 14, but I've only had 4 jobs since then, one in high school, one in college, and two since i graduated 7 years ago

Yeah, I've had 4 jobs in 19 years...1 while in college - 2 years, 1 after I graduated college I moved back home until I found something in electronics - 3 months, 1 as a pc repairman - 3 years, now here. My resume is easy to fill out ;) Of course I did some easy stuff while in high school but I don't count those, they were only summer jobs.

Yea the only reason I count the stuff in high school and college is to take up resume space for work history:)

How about this....I'm about to change jobs.

I'm bricking it a bit...seeing as I've been in the same job nearly 19 years and I'm only 37.

I'm 37 as well Billy. Been offered a couple of jobs since being here and they have counter offered enough to make me stay.

I don't know Tai - It has it's pros and cons. Bad thing for me is that I'm supporting only the technology that this place decides to purchase so I don't have a wide variety. Good things is we've got several other folks in this dept. that have been here 30 years and will be retiring soon so the management job will be mine if I want it - don't know if I want it though, there's a lot of power struggle going on in this place.

point well taken...your pros are also my cons. all in all I think it just depends on the company you're working for, whether they do what they should do to make you happy or not. as the saying goes "the grass is not always greener on the other side"
