    Because that's often what it ends up being.
    Sophie's not like you or me. She's got like 8 million dollars. She never has to appear in front of a camera again if she doesn't want to. Might as well make the most of her youth and fertility while she still has it. I daresay she'll find being a mother much more fulfilling than doing the umpteenth X-Men sequel.

    Hopefully, in the future, Disney/Marvel learns from Fox’s mistakes and doesn’t make another Dark Phoenix movie.

    That’s twice in the last 20 years that a Dark Phoenix movie has killed the X-Men franchise.

    Enough of that shit already. There’s decades upon decades of X-Men stories to draw from, and yet they keep going back to the Phoenix well.

    Hollywood is so goddamn lazy.

    They failed because Fox wanted to get to the Dark Phoenix Saga without going through the Phoenix Saga first.

    I didn't think she had much of a career to look forward to post-Thrones, so her guaranteeing that Jonas money for 18 years seems like a solid plan.

    The lack of coherent plan has always been the Fox/Marvel films weakness compared to the MCU.

    The Mystique situation was a good example because I don't think anyone thought she would lead the new generation of X-Men films but Jennifer Lawrence's fame skyrocketed and they changed course.

    Jennifer Lawrence showed up in that last Dark Phoenix movie like she was reading her lines off a cue card and just wanted a paycheck.

    They should’ve stopped after First Class in terms of the reboot.

    That Apocalypse movie where Oscar Isaac looked like Ivan Ooze was just absolutely horrendous.

    First Class was outstanding though.

    And Sophie Turner was fine as Jean Grey in the latter films. It wasn’t her fault they were awful. It was Fox meddling with rewrites and budgetary concerns.
