What are these thing s you american's call biscuits? because we must mean something very different as you sure as hell wouldnt put gravy on the english concept

So the British term biscuits, is what you Americans call cookies?

Don't know. Our biscuits are bread - like in the pic

 

British biscuits are correct to the origin and hard affairs similar but no the same as cookies which we have as well and a something else. American biscuits appear to be scones

 

It looks like scones can be sweet as well, our buscuits are simply flour and milk.
