We can thank people like Bella Thorne (and many many others) who charge $200 for bikini pics. A year ago when people were complaining about it, other were saying "so what? If people pay...". Yeah well now OnlyFan knows they can "clean" their image and content and still make a shit ton of money because of "celebs" like this and the people who will blindly pay for their instagram pics.
Ruining it for everybody.

 

That's it for independent - work from home, control your own content - producers. Anybody who thinks big banks and investors don't already have a piece of the multi-billion dollar porn industry, there's this bridge in Brooklyn of which you may want to purchase some shares.

That was my point. There's an article on Bloomberg this morning (behind paywall) that content creators are very concerned about their future earnings.

 

Ironically, under the new guidelines, it seems like the Bella Thorne types would specifically be allowed to continue to sell the same content on the platform. None of her content is what I'd call "sexually explicit", though maybe OnlyFans has its own idea of what that term means... I guess we'll find out in the coming weeks.

To be fair, if it wasn't for Bella to start the trend to attract other celebs, we wouldn't likely have Onlyfans from the likes of Diora Baird or Renee Olstead which the latter is doing borderline porn at this stage.

 

PocketStars also exists, has been around for a while and was founded by British porn star Ella Brookes to be sex worker friendly.

 

Curious, does any have the data after Tumblr banned porn? Did it freefall?

This is definitely shady deal with OF but I'm not surprised.

Someone who is on onlyfans - that I follow on twitter - said that this new rule would not apply to US, UK and Canada sites. I have no idea if this is true but if it is, they are more likely trying to cleen up in some other countries where it might be used to crime.

 

I give them one year and they're going to go bankrupt and you will never hear from them again. People will find a new platform and people will follow and only fans will be a memory.

 

It was valued around a billion dollars before it became anti-sex, now its valuation is a few million dollars. But the people who sold it don't care, they got their money and the ones who own it now just see it as a part of their portfolio.

from my understanding they are making the change because payment providers are forcing it, no change, they will no longer process payments....they do not want to be associated with sex work basically....

 

I saw a creator TOS posted the other day and it will also ban pussy or butthole pictures. So, yeah that is about it.

"exhibition" "which is extreme or offensive" are terms that will be argued over ad nauseum.

 

That can't be true because numerous other porn websites exist that accept credit card payments lol. Everything from manyvids, chaturbate, pornhub, various major porn websites, etc. The problem with OnlyFans is whoever runs their company is out of touch with how the website is predominately being used, and they've seemingly been wanting to take the company public. It's a huge error in judgement though, because the main reason OnlyFans has even built a large userbase is due to sex workers.
