Pornhub did got rid off everyone who wasn't verified or something like that, and it already fucked the website up quite a bit.

So essentially Mastercard would require OnlyFans to verify that every single picture or video being uploaded to their site does not contain any illegal content before it can be posted, including real-time monitoring of every live stream taking place. With the enormous number of content creators on OF nowadays, that would be an impossible task for the OF staff. They basically have no choice but to restrict the content being shared on their platform. Visa will undoubtedly follow suit before long. All of this because of the constant pressure and campaigning by "evangelical, anti-pornography groups" that want to wipe out the sex work industry completely.

I can't see that business model lasting in the long term (considering that most of the pornographic content ends up getting leaked and porn is still mostly free in any website like pornhub or xvideos). Maybe it was a financial decision after all?

 

That's why pornhub now requires all amateur content posters to have verified accounts. You can verify content legality if you actually invest in your workforce. Looks like Onlyfans took the cheapest and easiest route, without care for the people (sex workers) who have made them their money. It's gonna suck for them come 2021 Q4, 2022 Q1. They're going to see a huge drop off in both registered users buying content and content creators.

I follow a lot of girls on there(about 95% of which are free subs though, so I can choose what to pay for) and so far I'm seeing them asking the fans where they would follow them to because a lot of them aren't sticking around, and by and large the fans are saying they will be done with OF too. Huge mistake by OF, their valuation is going to plummet after this when the revenue reports come out after this goes into effect. I see a growing number of people thinking this is part of an assault on sex workers being independent, not needing bosses or pimps or middlemen in order to be successful and thus this is another attempt to force them back to those days where they were so heavily dependent on abusive powers to make money(because with the rise of things like OF, they became obsolete and thus weren't getting a cut themselves). And that isn't the whole truth, but it is part of it IMO.

 

It's sad seeing some tweets of amateurs who leaned on OF revenue during these pandemic times. They feel betrayed and lost, and many are wondering how they'll make rent now. Good thing there are other sites, as mentioned on this thread. I'm seeing some of them migrate to pocketstars and justforfans. I hope they manage to continue making content and stay afloat.

 

A decreased valuation is a lot more profitable to owners than a nonexistent one. This is pure capitalism, nothing more sinister than that. The owners are holding something valuable, and the payday from selling it feels greater to them than the future consequences of another buying it. I can pretty much guarantee that's their only concern. No need for a grand conspiracy
