It's a difference in culture. In the 1970s, television/media catered to men. Today television and the media cater to teenagers and women. No woman wants to be compared to Lynda Carter or Cheryl Tiegs or Christie Brinkley. They don't mind being compared to whatever the fuck we have now.

The shot was done by PB, in the airbrushed style PB used on its centerfolds. Its not an actual centerfold. Just a prop made for Apocalypse Now. It wasn't used in the film as far as I know, due to Lynda scoring the WW part prior to the movie's completion. Something about a hurricane messing up the movie sets in the Philippines, or some such, delayed the movie's completion. If it had wrapped on schedule, we would have been able to enjoy Lynda's titties every time the flick was played.

 

It was, actually. Can't remember if it's the original cut or the Redux but you can clearly see the original Lynda Carter centerfold in one of the scenes. This was because they managed to shoot that before the typhoon blew all the sets away.

 

Baccarin might be a decent choice, but I'm not sure she could do a good job with WW character. She may have the look, but look isn't everything and while she did a great job on Firefly, she wasn't that good on Stargate so it's a toss up what she'd do with WW.

Regan on the other hand is horrible choice. I really can't understand why people considered her a great choice for WW... she was horrible on both White Collar and Last Ship (the only things I can remember her from). I'm pretty sure I saw some porn stars that can act better then her.
