i've known this girl for about 2 years. she knows everything about me and my gf. she's just a good friend. she may think it's innocent in all reality because we are cool like that. i have girly opinions on clothes and some girls like that.

sometimes im extremely classy and i drink boxed wine. hahaha i was especially classy one night when a few of my girls and i decided to play "wine flip cup" and "wine pong." lets just say that that hangover lasted 2 days.

To me, it's like this:

Suppose you have an ex-girlfriend into town, and you decide to hang out just to catch up on old times. You decide to watch a film that you both liked--it's not a porn, not even a romantic comedy. Just some stupid action film you both liked.

You're watching it, you bust out a couple of bottles of wine, and then an hour or so into it she's gone from sitting next to you on the couch to leaning against you. No problem there, you're not making out or anything.

Then she looks up, you look down, and you start making out. You're a little buzzed, one thing leads to another, and you wind up hooking up.

It's very easy to justify it as "well, we were a little drunk, she was leaning against me, and one thing led to another". And nothing before that was really cheating at all.

But all that earlier stuff made it easier for the cheating to happen--if you really cared about the GF, you would've established boundaries early on that are _very far_ from cheating. Like, don't hang out in a private residence with another girl, even if it's just a friend (let alone an ex). Go out to dinner and sit with her across the table from you, but don't give things even a small chance to progress.

The other point that was brought up is valid, too: if some guy was sending her half-naked pics and she was encouraging him, wouldn't you be uncomfortable with that? If you really are into her, why would you do something that's likely to make her uncomfortable, regardless of whether it's necessarily "wrong" or not?

The point is, I guess, you don't stop inappropriate behavior right at the brink where your willpower is weak. You stop it up front, when it's easier to establish boundaries and Mr Cerebellum still has some control over Mr Winkie.

It's not that it's wrong, it's that if you actually care about your GF you stop things now when it's easy to stop rather than believing that you'll say "whoa, stop" when the webcam is up and she's rubbing herself and asking if she can visit.
