    Kate is British and there was a stereotype in the 70s/80s that posh British women generally upper middle class tended to be rather blasê about nudity especially familial nudity. That's to say they sunbathed in the garden topless or walked around the house in panties only but only around their immediate family. Kate does seem the type to keep up the tradition.
