An early reaction from Indiewire for "Dreams" says it's "provocative" and Jessica Chastain's "riskiest" performance yet. She's playing a rich woman who has an affair with a younger Mexican immigrant. This director has included nudity in some of his movies. Berlin film festival screening on the 15th.

My Wish is for a clear riding or walking ass shot, we have seen her tits plenty.

 

She's one of my favorites. I love super classy actresses who do nudity. She still does it every now and then, but some really eye-popping topless scenes earlier in her career.

I, too, would love to see a hot riding scene and ass shot.

 

She was my number #1 top favorite actress for a decade after her role in Interstellar but Rebecca Ferguson surpassed her last year, still a firm #2.

 

Love Chastain... one thing I'd caution... while I am not sure when this movie was shot, in her recent trips to L.A. she's gotten SUPER skinny... not going to speculate why but if this was shot recently and she didn't put back on some weight, then sadly both her breasts and booty will not be as big/plump as they once were

I said she got very skinny, reflected in her body. Maybe it was for a role/character and that role/character shot before this movie and she put back on the weight. Or maybe because she's getting older she went on a new diet...

Look, I am not implying she looked bad and had an eating disorder. I was simply saying she got much skinnier than what we had seen in the past so I don't know how that impacts her curves is all.

If you didn’t already know that Hernández is an actual American Ballet Theatre-trained dancer, then you will from the balletic sex scenes he and Chastain have choreographed in the film, which get about as graphic as you can go without hardcore nudity. What works about them (and makes them hot) is that they tell us more about the dynamic of the characters, who are mad in love but under immense strain to make any good outcome of that a functioning possibility in Jennifer’s carefully calibrated world. There’s a great scene, too, where Jennifer, adrift over their breakup, imagines a time when she and Fernando exchanged intensely dirty talk over a kitchen island, and if you’ve never thought you’d get the chance to hear Jessica Chastain utter, “I’m going to suck your balls without breathing on your cock,” here it is.

When Fernando arrives at a duplex in an upscale neighborhood overlooking the city, he knows where to find the hidden key, lets himself in and helps himself to what’s in the refrigerator. The owner, Jennifer (Chastain), comes home to find him naked and asleep in her bed. Unfazed, she undresses and climbs in for some mutually hungry sex, making it obvious theirs is an established relationship.

Chastain excels at portraying a woman accustomed to getting whatever she wants. In a memory stirred up by the kitchen counter, she spells out what it is in that moment in graphic sexual detail. But when Fernando has his own ideas, she’s sufficiently hooked to go with the flow.

When Fernando’s talent gets him a foot in the door at the prestigious San Francisco Ballet without her help, she’s rankled. Though not so much that she doesn’t resume the relationship and set him up as a teacher at the new studio. The desire between them is palpable when he returns to her home and is welcomed back with a steamy session on the stairs.

While there’s an undeniable romantic dimension to “Dreams” — recall that it begins with Fernando traveling 2,000-plus miles to reconnect with the woman he loves — Franco can’t be bothered with anything so bourgeois. Instead, the film’s kinky control games and unapologetically graphic sex scenes are electric (they may well shock arthouse crowds), but it’s the subtext that makes this clear-eyed and detail-focused moral drama so compelling: There’s the age difference, the wealth gap, the lure of opportunity in the U.S., the constant threat of arrest and the way some Americans sexually exoticize foreigners.

Chastain herself said there were 3 separate sex scenes in a interview.

 

It sounds really hot, but I hope there's real nudity and not clever camera angles.

 

2 of them emphasize "graphic" and 1 said it may shock arthouse audiences so I'm fairly damn sure it will be real nudity.

 

The last film I remember being poised to "shock" arthouse audiences was Michael Winterbottom's 9 Songs. Though they also said ahead of time that all of the sex in that movie was unsimulated, which I'm not hearing for this one.

I'm not sure I could ever see an established star in this era doing something with unsimulated sex. But then again, Michael Fassbinder was pretty well established when he did Shame, which pushed the line pretty far.

 

I'm fine with these simulated hot sex scenes, as long as Jessica is truly naked.

(this one is not only the first desenct berlinale_2025 film after 10+ pretty unbearable movies, but the sex scene in dreams (the stairs one, to be clear) is like the most real, the most honest, and genuinely the most erotic and passionate act I have seen in years on screen)

 

From another recapped poster. Allison Brie shows her boobs in a few shots in Together. The scene is very well lit, but if I described the scene any more it would be a major spoiler for the end of the movie. Looks like it's going the theatrical release route, but at least there's a date for it: August 1.

 

There better be a god-tier topless shot or full frontal shot.
