It was very nice thanks. Had a break in the humidity - so the golf game was really good. Enjoyed watching the Oylmpics mostly the rest of the time.


Busy, right now. Had an application go live come up today so just trying to take care of all the crazy stuff that always pops up.

that's good to hear. I just came off a 19 or 20 hour day yesterday, crashed at 2:30am up at 7:30. am going to work soon, just going to get dressed soon.

 

no we tanker the fuel for the year bama. the gas is pumped up from a barge about a mile up the hill to the tanks. batteries on the camera were dead so hope to get some pics later.

okay cool. I saw the the pics of the barge Friday - just didn't know if you unloaded the tanks from the barge or pumped it to storage tanks.

Yeah Won $35.00 - makes up for the last few rounds. I play with pretty much the same people so we really just trade money back and forth - fun though.

Well, it only happens every 4 years so I generally watch the events that the Americans have a chance to win in. A lot of the events I could care less about, I just watch them because it's America vs. whoever... Plus, it reminds me of college football with their attitudes. Where else can you young people that their home countries hate each can hug the others neck and congratulate them for a job well done?

yeah, you're right about that, it's just that i generally don't care for sports.

but i'll try to watch the basketball, since germany is one of the fav's alongside USA, Greece and 2 or 3 others.

 

I played sports since I was 5 so I really enjoy watching competiton. Germany is/was favored in several events - you should look it up if you get a chance. They metals in a few events this past weekend.

What sports have you been playing, american football i guess ?

 

I played football, baseball, and basketball till I was in the 9th grade. I dropped basketball and only played football and baseball till I graduated. Since then I haven't done anything organized at all - only knock the golf ball around and play with the kids in the yard.

I used to play basketball a lot, and i still try to play Badminton as often as i can.

golf must be cool, i'll try it out someday.

 

Yes, those are def. the top 3. Hard to say which single one is the most popular, would probably have to say baseball, football, then basketball - but anyone could argue that point.

I pretty much caught on to all sports I played pretty quickly - not that i'm a "pro jock" but I was by far the worst one on our team either. Golf is a different story - it's the most challanging sport i've ever tried...I think that's why I enjoy it so much.

Pretty much. You have to develop the proper swing and train your muscles to reproduce it over and over again. That's only 1/2 of it - the other 1/2 is feel for chipping and putting. That's the hardest part to overcome. Everyone misses the green from now and then, the difference in a good and a great golfer is his ability to chip it close to the pin and putt it in to save par when he misses the green.

 

did you teach it yourself or did you take lessons ?

A little bit of both. I should take lessons again because i'm not near as good as I wish I was. I have days where I play well then the very next day is shit - i'm not as consistant as I want to. To anyone beginning I def. reccomend taking lessons before you start seriously playing. It's hard to break bad habbits.
