Gotta say, after getting more than one shot of her as Lara, I'm kind of digging this. She's gotten in great shape for the role, looks a lot like the part (save for the XXL tits early Lara depictions had, but after Jolie they kind of got away from that anyway and focused more on the rest of the look, fitness, accent, etc.), and now we wait for more info about the series.

 

I don't see her in the role. This looks like an okay cosplay rather than a reveal. I think Emma Mackey or Daisy Edgar Jones would have been way better.

Or heck, Just give it to Daddario and make everyone happy

 

Could Mammario do the accent, though?

Well, Sophie looks good here and she deserves prop for getting in shape for the role (even if I doubt she have the acting ability to do Lara justice), but how much are you willing to bet that either we never actually see her wear that outfit in the show or she wears it for a few seconds in the first episode and then go "nah, this is too uncomfortable and ridiculous to wear" and then goes entire show wearing completely different outfit?

 

I didn't think there would anyone better than Angelina , but Sophie looks pretty damn good. I do have a few things she could explore , no tombs , just me , that's as long
as she doesn't stand there and laugh , that might ruin any fantasy I might be thinking of.

 

I thought that about the 3rd pic. But I think she's wearing dark contact lenses, so it must be why she looks kinda weird?

You know, Sophie wouldn't be my first choice but in the end there could be a lot, lot worse choices made considering reportedly final choice was between Sophie and Lucy Boynton. And I can't describe how happy (and surprised) I am that Phoebe didn't cast herself as Lara... which she could have done.

But in the end, casting of Lara is far lesser problem then who is making the show: Amazon Prime and Phoebe Waller-Bridge.

 

Waller Bridge is behind this??? Oh I am out. She will ruin this with agenda.

 

Yup, she is the at the moment according to IMDB the only one credited as writer and is also credited as show-runner. Granted, currently there are only acting, writing and directing credits for Episode 1 listed but she is the one Amazon hired to develop and run the series back in late 2022 or early 2023.
