    Huh? What agenda?

IMO the real worry here is that Waller-Bridge hasn't produced anything of value since season 1 of Killing Eve. She got a huge payday from a development deal with Amazon and then did basically nothing with it...

Her characters in Solo & Indy 5 that she had a hand in writing were insufferably awful and she said this quote about Croft...
"There's room to do something really quite dangerous," she asserted. "And if I can do something dangerous and exciting with Tomb Raider, I already have an audience of people who love Lara and hopefully will continue to. And that is a very unusual position to be in. It's the old Trojan horse."

This is the only official one that's been released. The others are likely fake.

At least she will have a genuine British accent even though she is not action movie material.

You forgot about her rewrites of final script for No Time To Die (to bring it "in line with #MeToo movement")... which is the biggest Red Flag possible.

Honest question; Would you say that you noticed that in the final product? Like if you hadn't been privy to this knowledge beforehand, would you have walked out of No Time To Die saying that it was feminist garbage? I didn't know about her involvement until reading your post and though I haven't seen it since it came out, I thought it was fine, on par with Spectre and Quantum of Solace, not in the same tier as Casino Royale or Skyfall. I actually don't care about the Tomb Raider franchise as a whole but find the conversation interesting. It has a very low bar to clear in my mind, just be better than the adaptations that came before. I thought the Angelina Jolie movies were dreadful (though she looked spectacular as Lady Croft), and the Alicia Vikander movie to be forgettable at best (she too looked great as Lara, btw).

Yes and no. While I (and my friends that watched it together) didn't walk out of theater saying it was "feminist garbage" we did walk out talking about what garbage this was and how we just wasted time and money watching it. How we wish we didn't bothered with it. It was only a year or two later that I found out that the movie we got is not the movie we were supposed to get. That producers invited Phoebe to make changes to final script so it would be "in-line with #MeeToo movement" (whatever the hell that might mean). One thing I'm not clear about (I never bothered to find out) is if they called her in before they started shooting or if they called her during post-production to "fix" things which required some re-shoots. But whatever the case, the version we got in theaters is 100% Phoebe approved and made.

And I agree with you that bar is very, very low since I honestly can't think of a live action movie or TV show based on video games that were good... maybe first Mortal Kombat (the 1995 one). Still, I fear that even that very low bar will be way too high for this show.
