    The 50 billion figure is for more than just venues, and also include buildings that are not specifically Olympics related. I've been following the construction in Beijing and Dubai, and they're both building at such tremendous rates that they're affecting the prices of materials worldwide, even here in Las Vegas. It's insane.

    You're right about cheap labor though. All over Asia labor is cheap. Journeymen are only making $11 - $12 a day.

    yes it is big but i don't see how it would have cost them as much as they claim. Trust me. Asian people especially Chinese people tend to exaggerate what they got and what they are worth. Look at where EVERY counterfeit crap comes from! :p

    well then that aint true because if you are talking about costs they got almost 1 billion dollars from NBC for broadcasting rights not including all the other monetary benefit like advertising and such. :p
