Hilary’s mother, Susan Duff, and father Bob Duff are still in divorce proceedings, and according to the court Mr. Duff sold stock without court approval.     Hilary's 21st-birthday stirs family drama

    NEW YORK - Hilary Duff's dad Bob Duff has been sentenced to prison for 10 days after he got into a bitter fight with her mother Susan over their daughter's 21st birthday party.

    The millionaire was dragged away in hand cuffs on Wednesday after Susan Duff, mother to sisters Hilary and Haylie, took him to court where they were trying to settle financial differences.

    Bob Duff was ordered to pay Susan $25,000 so she can "pay for their daughter's birthday" for her daughter's upcoming 21st birthday present and party.

    Judge Thomas Stansbury demanded Bob pay $12,500 to Susan for the celebrations and then went on to hold him in contempt of court for violating an injunction against selling stocks last month without court approval.

    He was also ordered to pay the $367,537 he earned from selling the stocks, according to the Houston Chronicle.

    The former couple has been locked in a bitter divorce for about 2 and-a-half years.

    Neither Hilary, whose 21st birthday is Sept. 28, nor her sister Haylie were in court.

I thought children after they reached adult age were on there own financialy? There parent's Bob, and Susan Duff have been at this for about 2 and-a-half years now, according to that article?

    That was my 1st thought too, you think Hilary could have chipped in a few dollars.
