    Yeah, it was the first pop/soft drink/soda/whatever in the US and was the most popular up through the 1920s. Nowadays you can only get it in New England and some specialty stores.

    It tastes like carbonated tires, which is pretty gross but for some reason if you mix spiced rum (Captain Morgans, etc) with it it works really well.

    Seriously, if you ever find some, buy it. Try a little on its own. Unless you have acquired the taste or like slightly antiseptic Birch Beer variants, you'll hate it. Then try it with Captain Morgan, and marvel at how it really just works as a combination.
