I am assidiously avoiding all BSG related sites; i want to watch the last ever eps in total blankness, no clue what's coming down the track.

'Cos i have this sneaking suspicion i'm going to be right fucking disappointed.

 

Were you dissapointed with the first ten episodes? I thought they were great, I'm really looking forward to the rest. And I think I read somewhere that because of the writer's strike, there'll be 12 episodes left, not 10.

But yeah, I'm gonna avoid BSG sites too.

And did you see the trailer for the Caprica mini-series? It actually looks pretty shitty unfortunately...

I didn't mind the first half, i just don't like that they've left so fucking much to do in the last 12 (heh - 12! As in `Colonies`)

 

I think it's great that there's 12 left. Seeing how Ep.10 ended, just imagine who they have to look for now And then there's the other cylons...and of course the 5th Cylon Model.

It's good there's two extra, then they don't have to rush things.

 

It's stuff they seem to be running over.

Like how Hera is this big important character in the development of the Cylons, but totally ignore the fact that the Chief's kid (i forget his name - Nicky?) is also a hybrid.

And now, fucking Tigh has impregnated Caprica Six. But they said Cylons couldn't do that to Cylons?

I have months of obsessing about this shit till they give us resolution. :mrgreen:

 

But Tigh is a different kind of Cylon. Because him and the other 4 have been to Earth at some point. How? Don't know yet, but they have.

So it's like two different breeds of dogs getting it on.

Yeah, it just smacks of an easy out. When i remember that BSG has tackled some hairy and lairy subjects head on, full steam, no quarter given, i can't help but feel the opening was...lacking something. Like the fifth season of Babylon 5. Every so often, there'd be a moment, a connection, some morsel dangled incongrously in the first season suddenly making sense after all this time. But mostly, till the end, it felt too forced, a let down after the shocking highs of season 4.

Who knows? Perhaps the second half will be like that; all these beats dropped in the first ten gathered up and wrapped around that bitch Tory's throat in the last 12 to make a kick-ass conclusion.
