Again with the sex. I'm talking metaphorical cannibalism, you're thinking about sex.

There are people that can help, y'know?

No - but i might. It's about £20 in HMV, which makes it the cheapest. And i'm working again, so i think i might. Maybe next weekend, to congratulate myself on another hard week.

Picked up a worryingly large number of DVD's today in a run-about town, going to all the places that sell outside of `town`. So, stores and Blockbuster.
    Get this;
    Stealth
    The Bourne Ultimatum
    The Core
    Vertical Limit
    Underworld
    Underworld 2
    Dark Blue
Melinda and Melinda (Chiwetel Ejiofor and Radha Mitchell, oh yes)
Robin Hood : Prince Of Thieves (i picked up the special edition of this a while back - it was shit. The extended version has this bullshit Pagan sub-plot which totally changes the form and function of the movie, and not in a good way)
Mock The Week - Too Hot For TV (it's a panel comedy satire show - very funny shit)

And not one of them full whack - i love DVD's. :D

I havn't picked up SCC yet. I can't spend (after taxes) $28 for 9 episodes. When they bring the set down to like $15, I might get it.

You picked up a lot of crappy movies :p The Core!? Seriously? :p Underworld's are only good cause Kate is extremely hot. And Stealth, I havn't seen it, but it looked like garbage. Especially seeing who directed it.

I picked up Clerks (the 3 disc 10th anniversary set), Clerks: The Animated Series, and Heroes: Season 2 the past week

Not one of these movies i would pick up full whack. But for £3? What's the harm? Stealth is really not that bad. Underworld is Kate Beckinsale in leather and guns; 'nuff said. The Core's daft as fuck; but that's why i like it. Vertical Limit's the same.

I picked up Bourne 3 dirt cheap because i've finally decided i'd rather like to have those films on my shelf.

Prince of Thieves is a classic.

However, rare event for me; i bought Melinda and Melinda (£3) and Dark Blue (£1.99) sight unseen. I've heard good things about both films, and, if they're not very good, or not shelf worthy, then i'm not massively out of pocket.

I got that Clerks three-disc. Clerks X, right? Fucking love that movie.
    `My girlfriend's sucked 37 dicks!`
    `In a row?`

I saw some of the animated series on a late night channel over here; didn't think much too them.

And Heroes S2? Dayum, you must be a fan. ;)

I haven't bought a lot of TV stuff, aside from BSG and Farscape. The last one i really collected (VHS, bitch!) was Buffy and Angel.

    And Star Trek - Voyager.

What? I enjoyed the hell out of it. Fuck the purists and their Kirk obsessions. Although, like DS9 with Worf, Voyager only got really good when Seven slinked into view. :D

Heh, yeah I'm a big fan of Heroes. I think Season's 2 "downfall" was that it was setting up all this stuff, but because of the writer's strike, they had to end it so plot lines just stopped kind of abruptly. They showed some footage of what they were going to do if the strike didn't happen and it looked pretty interesting.

As for Star Trek...I've always been a huge The Next Generation fan (because it was the one I grew up on). DS9 did start getting really good when Worf came on the show and the threat of the Dominion and when the eventual war began. It gave the show a whole different feel.

Voyage had a great concept but was just handled very poorly. I still like it over all cause it's Trek, but compared to the other shows, it's not all that great.

In a lot of ways Battlestar is what Voyage should've been. A ship trying to find it's way home, a constant damaged ship (how they'd fix the bulkheads and replace all those shuttlecraft with limited supplies), etc, etc...

Unfortunately, most people have seen only what was broadcast. And oh, was it bad. Shit, even Kring himself apologised for the quality of the second season.

If three doesn't open big, they may lose a lot of viewers, a la Lost.

I loved TNG too. Picard and Data. And Worf towards the end. Worf and Troi; that was fun. But have you seen the last film, Nemesis? *sob* I cried. In the fucking cinema, i cried. And i'm not in the least bit ashamed to admit it.

Trek's failing in general was Farscape's and BSG's benefit. None of this `push this button and solve everything`; there are very few deus ex machina's throughout 'Scape or BSG. Or Firefly, coming full circle in our mini-chat. :D

I still think the ending of Voyager rules all. Cracking fucking conclusion. :D

The ending of Nemesis, BTW. Not the quality in general.

I've only heard good things about the first episode of S3. Some people saw it at comic con and they said it was really, really good :D

I've seen Nemesis, even own it (I've seen pretty much everything Trek) I was dissapointed in it overall. It was a bad way for those characters to go out. I like why Data sacrificed himself, to save his friends and all, but I didn't think it was necessary for the movie.

Trek's failing was Rick Berman and Brannon Braga just following the same formula again and again and wasn't doing anything new. I mean for Voyager how many times did these use freakin Borg nanoprobes to solve shit? Constantly. And yes, their finale was pretty cool, I did enjoy it.

As for Farscape...never got into it. But Claudia Black is hot :)

Don't get me wrong; totally looking forward to the opening of season 3. Plus, we're synched with America, so that's a show off my download list - yay!

I own 2, 4, 6, 7 (i like it), 8 (the best) and 10. Nemesis resonates with me beacause everyone, and i mean everyone, seemed to be hinting that Picard was going to die. And for the whole movie, that's totally what you buy into. Then, what, in scenes that last for just a few minutes, bang, it's Data.

The finale has that awesome beat where you truly believe they've just gone back to the Delta Quadrant. And so cool they got Alice Krige to come back.

The first season of Farscape was a bit rocky. But it got better. Once they toned down the fish out of water comedy, it got a lot better.

That's why so many sci-fi fans grinned like idiots when first Ben Browder and then Claudia Black turned up on Stargate. :D
Throw in Morena Baccarin and Lexa Doig, and you've got a real sci-fi party happening people!

heh, i own all 10 Trek movies and all 7 seasons of TNG on dvd :p

Stargate definitely became the place for the sci-fi actors without jobs lol

I actually didn't watch SG-1 for the longest time, I liked the movie but didn't watch the show. Probably cause there was just so much of it, it was hard to know what was going on.

But last year I watched all 10 seasons online and really enjoyed it. I've seen the two new movies too and those were fun. I still have all of Atlantis to watch, but I don't feel like sitting through 4 seasons of it on my computer

It's funny how the `odd and even` numbered paradigm still works for Trek films. Even though i like 7. Kirk's death scene; powerful shit.

I remember watching it with a cringe, expecting it to be shit. Richard Dean Anderson blew away those doubts instantly.

I had to watch the last three seasons online because they're so slack in broadcasting them over here. And the two movies....well, Ark of Truth wrapped up the show, which was good. Continuum; fell kinda flat for me. Nice to see Hammond one last time though. :(

I watched the first season of Atlantis on terrestrial - it was alright, but it tried a little too hard to be right on. Plus, the Scottish doc (little dude, beard) royally pissed me off because, sure, fine, he's Scottish, we get that by the accent. So why have a Scottish flag on his uniform? Nationalism as may be, but whether Scottish people like it or not, they are officially British, and he therefore should have had a Union Flag. It bugged me every time i saw it.

Like you, I can't be arsed to watch the rest online.

I really like Generations. I thought it was a great movie (though the stuff in the Nexus was 'eh') It was awesome to see Kirk and Picard together. I love First Contact. It's the best film of the ten in my opinion. The TNG films kinda broke the odd-even curse in my eyes since I like 7 over all and didn't like 10 over all.

I think everyone had their countries flag on their uniforms cause McKay has the Canadian patch. I dunno, I guess the flag thing never bothered me :p

Eventually I'll see all of Atlantis, but I'm not in any rush. I enjoyed Continuum, it was fun. I wonder if they're gonna do a third

Kirk and Picard, riding through the glen!

8 is, by far, the very best. Troi, drunk? `Sorry, it's my first ray gun` `Borg? Sounds Swedish`, calling Worf a coward (love that scene), Lily calling out Picard, `This far, no further! And I will make them PAY for what they have done`. And the ending, totally not given away, totally kept from the viewing public (of course, pre-internet, so that helped), the Vulcans. I remember cheering when that hood came down, along with a whole bunch of others. Of course it would have been the Vulcans.

Everyone's country patch was on their shoulder; problem there is that Scotland isn't a country.

Gotta believe they'll commission a third; the first two were too well recieved to not do more.
