You know what pisses me off though?

I'm sitting there in the airport, and the tannoy-woman is looking for missing passengers on some such flight....and they're down to naming the bastards....and finally, some muppet comes tearing down the concourse and gets on the plane, like, an hour after they first opened the doors.

    Grinds my gears.

Inuk's airports can't be like what i'm used to. I go out of Atlanta a lot, that place is a friggin zoo, I hate it. It always take 1 to 1 1/2 hours to get through security.

Security at Heathrow's getting a bit of a nightmare.

I've worn steel toe capped boots since i was 16 (they're more durable for my big clown feet), which always set off the metal detector. Which was fine; i liked getting wanded by some bored looking individual each time.

    Then came Richard Reid.

And now at Heathrow, i automatically loosen my laces in the line, then put them through specifically.
What then pisses me off is that they have another, specific, shoe scanner between security and the departure lounge.

All of this shit because one guy tried to set his trainers off. And failed.

    It's a joke;

How do you spot shoe bombers?
They're the ones tiptoeing to the plane.

We have to take our shoes, belt, any jewelry, keys, and wallet out before going through. Then if you set it off they escort you to the side and do the wand scanner in addition to "patting" you down. I really don't mind though, it is necessary. I'd much rather be put out waiting in line than to going up in flames.

    Pansy.

    ;)

No - i don't mind it. I'd mind it even less if it was applied equally to all, but that's a different conversation.

It is equal over here. Had to many complaints from musulums or whatever saying that they were mistreated. They pretty much treat everyone the same now.

    Evening di, how's it going?

The problem over here is that Muslims aren't being searched the same; wailing about infringement of human rights, citing the European Convention on Human Rights, the single piece of most fucked up, evil and foolish legislation to emanate from the blue 'n' gold behemoth.

Main problem is that way too many Muslim women in the full burka aren't being checked, ie asked to lift their veils, 'cos it's an offence to God or some shit. There aren't enough women working in security positions to take these women into seperate rooms to be checked.

One of the failed bombers from 21st July 2005 got out of the country by wearing a burka and flying on his sister's passport. Got the bastard back and he's in jail now, and his sister got a spanking (but not as severe as she should have) for the passport shenanigans.

Arch-Liberals seem to forget that the last hijacking to come to the UK, the Afghan plane hijacked to Stanstead...shit, i can't even remember the date, but pre-Sept 11th. Bunch of anti-Taleban types hijacked an internal flight and banged around Europe before pitching up in the UK, where they happily and promptly surrendered, claiming asylum along the way.
And how did they get the weapons aboard? They gave them to their wives to carry, under the full length burkas.

Going to hell in a hand-basket, but hey, at least it's politically correct, right?

    :(

Alan Curbishley has quit as manager of West Ham and Paolo Di Canio has admitted he would like the job.

Curbishley resigned despite leading the team to victory in two of their three Premier League games this season and Di Canio would be a popular choice to replace him.

He played for Curbishley at Charlton and hoped his old manager would stay on at West Ham but the resignation could give the Italian his first taste of management.

Di Canio said: "I took the coaching badges in the summer and I would like to have a job.

"I am waiting for a job in England because my dream is to come back and I think there are a lot of good things I can bring.

"My dream team is West Ham. I keep the club in my heart. One day I hope to come back to London and sit on the bench at West Ham."

WTF? Who quits three games in? What's that all about then, paolo? Really about, not what the man and the club are saying.
