I liken their actions to a homeowner that spends all his money on shit, and then when the heating system craps out, he has no scratch of his own, and borrows the money from the (Communist) neighbor that he hates. Not a very good position to be in.

vegas during the housing boom was the biggest area with house speculators. 1/3 of all the houses there are owned by people who don't even live in the area but bought it purely on speculations. So now with the housing crisis it is worst there than most places.

Perfectly put. Alot of renters lost their place to live as a result. One of the zip codes here was the hardest hit in the nation. Nearly 50% of the homes were foreslosed on. :?

 

Ahhhh....fucking "flippers". They watched the 2 a.m. infomercial on how to buy real estate "with no money down", and this be the end result.

 

i'm just glad the zipcode with the highest forclosure rate in my city is 2.6 and the average is slightly below 2%

Yep. The upshot is, it's now relatively 'affordable' to buy a home here cuz the prices have plummeted. Not so good if you have a home here and you've lost all your equity though. In a way it serves people right for over paying in the first place. So many people were so desperate to get into a home that they overextended themselves. Pitiful really.

 

there are always ways to make money even in this down economy like this, just that you need a good chunk of cash and people you trust who have houses that is under water to do it.
