Tax cuts for small business is always in every politician's budget, until that revenue is needed to offset overspending fuck ups in other parts of the budget. I've seen that story played out every year at the local, state and federal level I can remember since I was a kid.

Outspendeing the Russians was totally pointless because it was well known since the end of the 60's that the Soviets were on the road to financial ruin. Nixon knew it, as did Ford and Carter, which is why they didn't let the defense budget balloon out of control. If you doubt me, look it up. Reagan did exactly what Ike warned against by letting the military industrial complex get out of hand.

The thing is, then, that all recent Democratic presidents were bad and all Republican ones were good? Can we safely make that blanket statement?

Ike, Nixon, Carter and to some degree Clinton were good for the country. I know, I included Nixon, but tricky Dick was a smooth operator and we won't be seeing the likes of him anymore. Unfortunately.

How many times do I need to tell you that I'm not a democrat!! I don't support either of the candidates for president. It doesn't matter what they say during the campaigns because none of it will turn into reality. It never has so why should I think it ever will? All of the politicians in Washington are corrupted by a system they no longer have control over. For the most part, congress spends its time playing catch up with all the market forces they're supposed to have control over. It's been that way for as long as I can remember.
