There are just too many to name after 45 years, but my tastes run the gamut from hard rock, blues, jazz/rock fusion, modern jazz and R & B/Soul... preferably heavy on instrumental content.

I prefer to hear musical instruments played than hear vocals, unless the vocalist has a really great voice. Song lyrics don't mean a great deal to me anymore, not when like I was a teen when listening to songs was as much for the statement they made as for way they jammed. I have a large collection of stricly instrumental music.

 

Alice in Chains, The Doors, Deep Purple, Epica, Frank Zappa, Jefferson Airplane and Pink Floyd.

I saw him at the House of Blues here in Vegas 3 years ago. It was a fuckin fandango! Great show, I won't soon forget it.

 

My favorite musicians/bands list is too long. I like music that is "rich" in what it has to say, not "thin." My faves go back to the beginnings of recorded jazz, on up to the LIVE version of stuff like "Ain't No Other Man" by Christina Aguilera to the "Shout" cover that Disturbed to "Summer Wind" by Sinatra.

There's so much good music out there.

If I recall correctly, the tickets were less than 50 bucks - which is cheap for Vegas - And I was standing about 15 feet from the stage all night, except when I went to the bar to get beers. It was a hell of a party.

 

And I didn't put bands or artists of jazz and tango. Jazz (be bop specially) and Heavy Metal are my favourite music genres.
But like pm says, It is a lot of music out there.

 

I paid 9 dollars to see Aerosmith in Detroit in 1975. And that was after their 1st album was a hit!

My first concert (of an International band) was Rolling Stones at River Stadium presenting "Bridges to Babylon", excellent show btw.

True. The last 4 songs Ive listened to were by Van Halen (hard rock), Ronnie Baker Brooks (blues), Frank Zappa (A jazz/fusion instrumental) and Vince Guaraldi (Jazz). Los Lobos and the Dixie Dregs are coming up.

My first concert was Rush. $5.

 

Their 1st album. I'll look for a song list. Walk This Way and stuff like that...
